Today we’d like to introduce you to Brent Hollingsead

Hi Brent, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Blending a background in graphic design with fine art, I sharpened my eye for composition in the digital realm but always found refuge in painting. As an impressionist artist based in Colorado, my work explores heavy textures, layering, abstraction, and spontaneity. From her serenity to her wrath, dramatic lighting and expressions of nature inspire my creations. Geometric mysteries are often collaged underneath rich layers of painterly strokes, where experimentation and rhythmic patterns emerge. I’m interested in exploring a process that dances between intention and chaos; a meditation that explores what it is to be human through my journey. My hope is to reveal the connective force that underlies all things, inspiring others to find presence in nature and to find their own experience within the movement and flow of creativity.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the last 25 years, My career has been steeped in the digital arts realm as a creative director and entrepreneur. These disciplines have informed my lifelong hobby as a painter and creative director. I’ve held expertise in managing creative teams and leading results driven success for high profile global companies and startups alike. My challenge has always been in balancing work life and family against my passion to be creative. I enjoy “playing in the band,” teaching and being a mentor, but being a father is my most passionate artistry. Connecting with family and friends about their true passions, and inspiring others is what I yearn to do most! Managing that time and staying present to what matters most is always a journey.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work reflects a profound connection to nature, emotion, and the human spirit. Inspired by Colorado’s dramatic landscapes, my work merges heavy textures, abstractions, and spontaneity to evoke nature’s serene and volatile moods. I attempt to balance control and chaos, with each brushstroke becoming a meditation on light, form, and the interconnected energy of all things. Drawing from Colorado’s soaring mountains and golden plains, I attempt to reveal nature as a living force, full of rhythm and mystery. Beneath painterly strokes lie geometric patterns and hidden layers, suggesting the unseen structures of the universe and inviting reflection on transformation and impermanence.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Live each moment presently and completely, and the future will take care of itself. Enjoy the wonder and beauty of each instant, and practice presence and peace… it’s a life long practice, but if you’re not enjoying each moment that you are actually yearning to build a dreamy future, you can’t find happiness in the now.
