Daily Inspiration: Meet Cassandra Janssen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassandra Janssen.

Hi Cassandra, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After losing my health while pursuing a degree in computer information systems I was lucky to discover personal training and Pilates. Personal training helped me to regain my health, however discovering Pilates was completely transformational for me. I gained flexibility and mobility I had never experienced before along with a drastic reduction in pain. I knew I was sold and immediately pursued certification in Pilates through Peak Pilates Systems. While I enjoyed the classical foundation of Peak certification, I felt there was something missing. I met the previous owner of Sun Pilates and we hit it off and both wanted a better certification option so we created Pilates SOL Comprehensive Teacher Training that we ran out of Sun Pilates. While running our training program and seeing Private Pilates Client at Sun Pilates I was able to have 3 wonderful kids! They are now 4, 7 and 8 years old. I came to own Sun Pilates through the tragic loss of the previous owner and my business partner Dawn. I now run both the studio and the training program while raising 3 kids. It’s been a wild ride and I hope she is looking over the studio and proud of my work. We focus the studio on community and relationships, keeping class sizes small.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I took over the studio it was very sudden and I had a lot to learn! I have rearranged the studio many times and learned a lot about taxes! I am super lucky to have all of the past instructors on board still and helping me keep the studio running smoothly.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I don’t feel like I can take credit for the ongoing success of Sun Pilates and Pilates SOL. However, I am so excited to be bringing a new branch to Sun Pilates called Sun Health. I will offer Integrative Health Coaching services as well as Functional Medicine Lab Testing.
