Daily Inspiration: Meet Catherine Harris

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Catherine Harris.

Hi Catherine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I had my daughter in July of 2023. The plan was always daycare, but in my heart, I just wasn’t ready. So, I started baking cookies. And then pie. And then bread. And now cupcakes. We bake desserts for all seasons. This has allowed me to stay home with my daughter and raise her myself. I absolutely respect daycare moms and career moms, but for me and my family, this is what works best!

My daughter gets to join me on some event days, deliveries, and pop-ups! It’s super fun seeing people remember her and support us. I’ve been baking as long as I can remember, like most people baking with their mom or grandma! I love those memories with my family, and I hope my daughter gets to love those, too!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh no, haha! Learning how to balance working from home with your new baby has not been easy.

But we have been getting into a good routine, and sometimes it doesn’t work out that day! We try really hard to get everything prepped the day before pick-ups for easy, but sometimes we stay up until 3 am to get orders done if the little one is having a hard day!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe you can tell us more about your work next?
I love making cakes! Your new favorite treat is very similar to a cake pop but in the shape of a popsicle! These have been my most popular items, perfect for baby showers, weddings, engagement parties, corporate events, and more! Everyone loves us for our double-decker cookies. These are 4-5ounce cookies that are stuffed!

Our most popular flavor is “the dad bod.” A chocolate chip and M&M cookie stuffed with Nutella. What sets us apart is trying to offer different flavors. We have offered cookies inspired by your favorite Starbucks flavors, such as matcha, pink drink, caramel macchiato, chai, and pistachio!

What are your plans for the future?
We have only been running for about 7 months, and I am already overwhelmed with orders!

We are hoping by our one year, I will be full-time baking! I love serving my community! We were recognized as the “Brighton Woman of Action” this year, meaning we take pride in trying to make our community a better place, one cookie at a time!
