Daily Inspiration: Meet Daniel Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Williams.

Daniel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started playing piano the year man landed on the moon. I started playing woodwinds soon after. I have played in a variety of groups, from high school band and orchestra, a dixieland band, a plethora of original bands from punk, blues, rock and roll, r&b and jazz.

I moved to Colorado from Minnesota in 2016. During the pandemic I made a promise to myself to dedicate the year to writing music and releasing music. My first album “Are You Prey” (2020) was all composed, recorded and produced in my home studio in Black Hawk, CO. I have released four more albums since then with “Playin for Fun” as the latest release in 2025. I solicited some great musicians from the Gilpin and Nederland area to also play on that album. Look for a new protest album and new jazz album coming out in the next few months.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My road has been full of dirt, gravel, potholes and just basic surviving. I think that life experience helps me write.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have worked in IT, construction, solar installation, adventure race director, real estate broker and now a home builder.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I like having Chopin on for coffee in the morning.
