Daily Inspiration: Meet Diana Cano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Cano.

Hi Diana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I’ve always been fond of the camera. Aspiring to be the locally known Darla I knew I was destined to be around a camera! I discovered my gift as a photographer by photographing my oldest daughter in 2013. At the time my daughter was invited to photoshoots to audition for major and commonly used baby products.

At the time I was also in college; so I thought, “Why not attend a photography class?’ I photographed her headshots for the auditions and from there transitioned into photographing her for holidays, lifestyle photos, and of course photos to share with family. Adding on another child I now have even more of a reason to continue to grow as a portrait and lifestyle photographer.

My photography company Gorgeous Artistry and my name grew by word of mouth in my community. Many people began inquiring about my photography and wanted me to photograph for them. It began as a here-and-there side job to every weekend booking 5-8 photo sessions. I now have been in business for 10 years.

I’ve expanded into indoor photography, weddings, and events, and my creativity has evolved along with my skills. The majority of my clients are clients that have stayed by my side since 2013! They became friends and family of Gorgeous Artistry but my arms are always open and welcoming to all new potential clients!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It most definitely has been a smooth yet bumpy road from time to time. But work must always be done to improve and grow. But I wouldn’t change struggles, accomplishments, the good and bad for anything. With everything that has made a stop, yield, speed limit, construction zone, and caution sign that has not and never will get this car off the road.

Some struggles are letting photography turn into a job, facing competition, rejection, and maintaining the elements of photography ALWAYS! ( locations, lighting & composition) Mind and energy come to play! Confident mindset and positive energy!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m currently a part of an HR team for an outstanding company locally here in Greeley. I’ve been blessed to be a part of a great company, management, team, and organization that truly lets me be the artistic and strong woman, employee, coworker, and mother that I am. Before this company, I worked for weld county human services.

I’ve been blessed to do what I love to do most which are work with my local community and help pave successful roads ahead for them. I’ve opened another two companies. Shady Vision- which supplies stylish, trendy, and sophisticated sunglass styles to fit anybody! Also, a strip lash company that is currently undergoing a revamped company look! Most importantly, I am most proud of the woman I am becoming.

Im reaching and working towards my full potential to become the best role model I can be for my two daughters, (10 & 7) Obtaining and working hard on my personal qualities, goals, morals, and ethics will stem from my mind and heart to those that I have near. I can honestly say I am a very inspirational dn influential woman who wants everyone to grow, succeed, and be proud of themselves in life!

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking it.
It’s always good to take risks especially when it pushes you outside of your comfort zone and helps achieve a goal you want to complete! Risk raking is a win-win. You can succeed or you can fail BUT learn from those mistakes. Some risk I have taken is to push myself to get out there.

Regardless of any fails, rejections, NOs, and being underestimated I have strived to move forward and all take it as what’s meant to be will be. I take time to consider, accept and embrace the ideas of setbacks. With admiration and hope coming to light for a major comeback!

• Indoor mini holiday sessions $75
• Local Mini portrait sessions outdoor $85
• Anything outside of the local mile radius of $165 plus a travel fee
• Events prices due to per hour and traveling
