Today we’d like to introduce you to Dinah Simpson.
Hi Dinah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Meditation Guide, Reiki Energy Healer, Sound Therapist, and soon-to-be Akashic Reader. My purpose and mission is to elevate the vibration of your life.
I created HIGH KI LIVING to give people in my community the tools to raise their vibration and find wellness from within. I support individuals and organizations through meditation, breathwork, movement, and other mindfulness-based practices for inner nourishment and healing (both emotionally and physically). By introducing you to this high vibrational lifestyle, we will work on reconnecting and rediscovering your essence and aligned purpose–to live fully and authentically you.
I know high vibrational living works. My journey through personal trauma, loss, becoming a parent, and heartbreak lead me down this path of elevated growth and transformation. My own healing began with meditation. I had been through years of therapy, working on ways to release the trauma of child abuse. Somehow I found a workshop with a Buddhist Monk offering inner child healing meditation. After three intense sessions, I discovered compassionate awareness for myself, a surrender to the suffering, forgiveness, and then deep heart healing. This was a profound energy shift which expanded my soul and lead me to my purpose to guide others in their healing journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been repeated obstacles and challenges that I now know were opportunities for personal awareness and growth. But at the time of struggle, I could only see these hardships as suffering. It’s difficult to take a look at pain as it’s happening and ask yourself, what is this situation teaching me?
My father was both emotionally and physically abusive. I held on to a lot of anger, resentment, and sadness in that relationship. As a child, my boundaries were all violated so I did not have a healthy foundation when it came to trust. That looked a lot like lack of self-worth/love, over-achievement, people pleasing, perfectionism, risk aversion (I was a control freak!)… to name a few. Because I did not trust myself, I also could never decide what was best for me so I always looked outside myself for approval. And that fed into all of my relationships, including the relationship with my children.
When my children were very young, I found myself depleted. Sleepless nights. Never enough time to prepare a healthy meal. And there was no energy to exercise. Any free time was for the countless piles of laundry. Chocolate and wine were rewards for getting through the day. Repeat: a not so healthy vibration. One day, I had this surreal experience of actually seeing myself yelling at my kids. I was so angry with them. But somehow, I knew that anger was not mine. It frightened me.
I heard about Reiki years before having kids but the memory only came to me in this moment. I started to look into Reiki practitioners in the area. There weren’t many but luckily, I did find a few.
On the Reiki table, I was so exhausted that I fell into a deep sleep. I awoke suddenly and felt an overwhelmed to cry. The tears came and I could not stop, my body heaved with so much emotion. My mind surrendered to the gentle whispers of the Reiki practitioner, “it’s okay, let go, you are safe here.”
That was the first time I experienced the life force healing energy of Reiki.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Pause for a moment. Feel your feet grounding into the earth. Take a long steady breath into your nose. Feel your belly expand. Hold the breath for just a few seconds, and now exhale fully through your mouth.
Inhale again: feel the coolness of the air as it enters your nostrils. Notice your chest expands as it fully receives this breath. Hold the breath for a few seconds. Now slowly exhale through your nose and notice the warmth of the air as it passes through the nostrils. Let your breath normalize and just breathe. Breathe.
When we become still and bring awareness to our breath, we connect to our body. The brain becomes present and focuses on the act of breathing. I’m breathing in. Inhale. I’m breathing out. Exhale. We are in the body and not in the mind. We are present in this moment and we are free to be.
It’s time to slow down and listen deeply to what it is you need to nourish and heal yourself. I’m here to remind you how to align and reconnect to that inner wisdom, that love within yourself. In my practice across the country, I create space to foster the awareness and practice of well-being. Working together, we can implement a routine for mindfulness, resilience, creativity, compassion and kindness, focus, stress reduction, productivity, and so much more.
When we make time to nourish ourselves, we have more space to nourish others. Through meditation practice, breathing techniques, sound therapy, Reiki, movement, nutrition, and other modalities, we can manifest the very best version of you! Are you ready to meet your highest self?
What’s next?
It’s my honor to guide you to the present moment. Let go of the past and the future. There’s nowhere else to be but here in the present.
However, we do look ahead to a future of expansion and connection through workshops, retreats, weekend hiking excursions, and healing experiences. Please stay in touch to learn more about creating your high-vibrational life!
