Daily Inspiration: Meet Elyssa Bell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elyssa Bell.

Hi Elyssa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started with my mom who was the family photographer growing up. She always had a camera on her and it sparked my interest. After stealing her camera all the time to take my own photos, she finally bought me my first digital camera when I was 13 and I never wanted to put it down! I took photos of everything, but mainly started with landscapes and nature. I took photography classes in high school and I was hooked. After winning a photo contest in Arizona, I knew this was a hobby I was good at and passionate about.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Photography is a passion and hobby, and I never want that to go away. Of course starting a business has its bumps in the road, but I never try to take it too seriously. My goal is to keep the excitement and joy in it all so that my work stays fun, unique and admirable to my clients! I officially started my business almost 5 years ago and I am finally at a point where I can really enjoy everything it has to offer.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I just graduated with my Masters from the University of Northern Colorado in Sport and Exercise Science. I am currently planning to attend Florida State University come this fall to continue my studies in Exercise Physiology and work as a research assistant in their Institute of Sport Science and Medicine!

Photography keeps me sane through the busy grad student loads. It really is my escape from my full time job! I got into the wedding industry about two years ago and have fallen in love with it. I am so proud with how far my business as come, especially when it comes to weddings.

I think what sets me apart from others is how well rounded I am. I’m not a full time photographer and don’t ever aspire to be. I am passionate about so many things that I need a good life balance between them all. I want to continue capturing peoples special moments and keeping the excitement and passion with it all is what truly sets me apart from others. You can see it in my work and my personality when you work with me.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memories were the ones we took family vacations. My mom always had her camera and documented every single one of the trips. It’s those memories I cherish and love to look back on and remember just how special those times were when we were all young and growing up!
