Daily Inspiration: Meet Gary Leon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gary Leon

Hi gary , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I attended Fullsail in Orlando, Fl. After that I interned at different studios in Los Angeles. I networked until I got an internship at Atlantic Records under Mike Caren. At Atlantic Records I signed Ty$, Sueco The Child, Natanael Cano, Junior H and A&R’D songs for Trey Songz, Bruno Mars, Wiz Khalifa, G Eazy, Fast and the Furious and many others. Im currently managing Peysoh, Ty$ and I work with MPJ from the nuggets.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
haha no, like everything , its has its ups and downs. but in music, really entertainment, you feel the lows and the highs more than others. In music, you see a lot of drug abuse and violence, seeing some of those things were some of the lows.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I connect dots, music, sports and anything in entertainment. Im known for hard work and my incredible ear/eye for talent. Im proud to have gotten a job in music during the worst time in music ,when digital sales were falling off and iTunes was diving off a cliff, there were about 40 slots open in the whole Industry and I was one of them. I have a rare belief in myself that I can accomplish anything, that doesn’t stem from false confidence.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
luck has paid a major role. the harder you work the luckier you seem to get….
