Daily Inspiration: Meet Jaidyn Wiese

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaidyn Wiese

Hi Jaidyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Music has always been a consistent part of my life from drum lessons when I was a kid, to choir and piano in grade school but I never knew it would be something that grew to be such a big part of my life. I’ve always loved dubstep, as soon as it starting gaining popularity with artists like skrillex and excision it grew to be one of my favorite genres. My first rave was excision in 2018 with my sister when I was 16 and although I had a great time, I didn’t fully grasp it yet and my next rave wasn’t for another 6 years in 2022 at Subtronics on 4/20, the night that changed it all for me. I fully dove into the music and the scene that night headbanging my heart out and I felt like i understood the music and could hear pieces of it that I don’t think the average listener pays attention to and that night I knew I wanted to learn how to make it. So I bought a mini midi controller and ableton a few months later in June and dove into learning how to make the music I fell in love with that night. It was a struggle in the beginning just learning strictly off free online courses from nasko and whatever I could find in YouTube. After learning just enough to start messing around on my own, I did exactly that for about 6-7 months before having loads of question that I just couldn’t find the direct answers to. Luckily right around this time GorillaT was starting to offer 1 on 1 production lessons. I booked 2 hours first and learned a ton and got a lot of questions answered so I booked 4 more hours. Luckily Tate and I both live here in Denver so he invited me over and we smoked and he taught me even more. This really laid the foundation for the entirety of my music production now. I ran with this knowledge and put it to use with my next song. This lead to the creation of the first song on the “Tezarakt” project, “4th Dimensional Cube”. After creating that song and feeling confident I began to get on Ableton every single day for months and months refining my abilities and gaining more knowledge. Since then I typically spend 3-8 hours on Ableton on more than 50% of my days. Like I said, it was rough in the beginning but after about a year of CONSISTENT time in the DAW I finally felt I crossed over a threshold where I could finally sit down and create dubstep on a consistent basis and even if I started a new project and didn’t like it in the beginning I could put more time and effort into and make it into something I feel is release worthy. I also began performing my music live in Dec of 2023 with my first show being at Larimer Lounge opening for DubHoundz, I played 17 total shows in 2024 at venues around Denver including Kulture Music Hall, Church Nightclub, and The Blackbox. I even got my first out of state booking going B2B with Crucible in Seattle which lead to being signed with Seaview Talent Agency for bookings and Bass Package for management. I now have almost 30 releases out, a label release on Rolling Bass Records called “Sacrifice”, currently sitting on my best music yet waiting to release them and am on track to meet my 2025 goal of playing an out of state show for every month of the year. So far I have played Iowa in January and have Seattle coming up this weekend! I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings for the “Tezarakt” project, the support has been unbelievable and i appreciate every single person who has ever checked my music or come to a show, it means the world to me!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve gotten incredibly lucky with the people I’ve met and the support I’ve gotten but it definitely hasn’t always been like that. I’d say the biggest struggle I’ve faced and still face sometimes is getting the song ideas from my head to the DAW. In the beginning it was extremely difficult and very very discouraging especially when I’d spend 3-4 hours working on something just to hate it and delete it, or spending hours in the DAW and not even getting an idea down and I still face these challenges today sometimes but I have to remind myself that I can’t be creative ALL the time, every single producer/creative I’ve met has faced this challenge that although we have the ability to create and we have knowledge to create, sometime the inspiration and the flow just isn’t there and that’s okay, that’s what makes the times that we do get into that flow all that much better. If you’re just starting off with ANYTHING, give yourself some grace and be easy on yourself. Yes it’s discouraging and you begin to doubt if you can even do it, but listen to the quiet whisper that continues to cheer you on and root for you rather than the voice telling you that you can’t and I promise you will achieve whatever it is you’re working for.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a dubstep/bass music/edm producer and DJ from the Denver area (Bass Capital BABYYYYY!). I’ve now been producing music for just under 3 years and been playing shows for just over a year now. My main inspiration comes from artists like Subtronics, Griz, Excision and Ivory. My main goals are to play festival main stages and headline my own shows selling out tours and arenas. One of my main goals is headline Red Rocks and call it “TEZAROCKS” I also aspire to sign music to Cyclops Recordings and Disciple. You can typically find me at home in the studio working on music or new mixes, outside of music im a auto mechanic for my day job which pays the bills but still allows me to have more than enough time to spend with friends and family while also giving me enough time for music. Finding the balance between it all was difficult in the beginning but i feel I’ve gotten in a good flow of things now. You can typically find me out at smaller local shows supporting the local scene as well as out at some of the bigger shows for all of our favorite artists.

What does success mean to you?
To me success is as simple as doing something that you enjoy and loving doing it. Although I have bigger goals that I’ve yet to achieve I feel as though I’m already successful in music because I’ve already achieved the biggest reason for why I started this and that is just having the ability and knowledge of how to create the music that I love. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities that music has brought me and I will forever continue to make music and put it out for people to enjoy and I will play shows for as long as I can and I’ll always be aiming for the next goal but at the end of the day if I could never play a show again and no one could ever hear my music again I’d still be happy and successful knowing that at any point I can sit down and create music whether that’s dubstep or not, having a creative outlet or just having something in general that I love doing that brings me so much joy and gives me a place to just shut the world out is all I could ever ask for and being lucky enough to have people listen and enjoy my music and being lucky enough to play shows along side some of my best friends and idols is something that I find truly incredible and is an amazing addition to the ability to create the music to begin with. Just knowing my music has impacted even one person is all the success I’ll ever need, everything else is the icing on the cake.
