Jared Judge, the dynamic force behind Extreme Strings Electric Violins and Dream City Strings, merges his rich expertise in music and technology to create unparalleled musical experiences. 

With degrees in music and a background as a band director and non-profit opera house manager, he’s also a tech enthusiast who developed BookLive to streamline administrative tasks for musicians. His ensemble, Extreme Strings, is renowned for its electrifying violin performances at various events, blending contemporary and classical tunes to craft sophisticated, emotionally resonant atmospheres. 

Their innovative approach, including collaborations with DJs, sets a new standard in event entertainment. Jared’s leadership and passion for music, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, have made him a pivotal figure in elevating live music experiences and coaching musicians through the Fulltime Music Academy. 

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In Denver, as an electric violinist, I navigate unique challenges that test my adaptability and resilience. The city’s high altitude impacts the way I play, requiring adjustments to maintain my performance quality. 

Seasonal fluctuations lead to variable gig opportunities, particularly in the colder months, and carving out a niche in Denver’s crowded music scene demands constant innovation and effective online engagement. The shift towards digital and the need for pandemic-era adaptability have pushed me towards virtual performances and creative collaboration methods. 

Despite these challenges, Denver’s rich musical landscape offers endless growth opportunities, inspiring me to evolve my craft and thrive in this vibrant community.

Jared Judge’s career is a testament to his versatility in music and technology, characterized by significant contributions to education, performance, and entrepreneurship. Holding two music degrees, he initially shone as an educator, directing bands in elementary and high schools, and leading a non-profit opera house. Jared’s technological acumen also led him to develop numerous websites and apps, blending artistic creativity with technical expertise. His venture, Dream City Strings, quickly became Milwaukee’s premier wedding string quartet, showcasing his innovative approach to traditional music. 

The creation of BookLive marked a turning point in Jared’s mission to address the administrative challenges musicians face. This platform, alongside the Fulltime Music Academy, has revolutionized the way musicians manage their careers, offering tools and training for securing high-paying gigs and efficiently handling schedules. Through BookLive, Jared has empowered countless musicians to achieve financial success, with many earning the Major 6th Award for surpassing $100,000 in bookings, underscoring his dedication to helping artists thrive. 

At the helm of his latest venture, Extreme Strings Electric Violins, Jared Judge shines as a solo act, captivating audiences in Denver, CO, with his electrifying electric violin performances. This innovative project combines contemporary and classical music, creating memorable moments at weddings, corporate events, and special occasions. Extreme Strings is particularly noted for its unique collaboration with DJs, blending violin melodies with popular tracks to set a new standard for event entertainment. What do you like and dislike about the city?
As a musician, one could say the best thing about Denver is its vibrant music scene and the diversity of its audiences. Denver boasts an eclectic mix of venues, from intimate jazz clubs to large, historic concert halls, catering to a wide range of musical tastes. 

This variety not only provides numerous opportunities for performers of all genres but also fosters a rich cultural landscape that values and supports live music. The city’s appreciation for the arts is palpable, making it an inspiring place for musicians to live, create, and perform. Additionally, Denver’s beautiful setting, with its stunning mountain views and clear, crisp air, can be incredibly motivating for creative endeavors. 

On the other hand, a challenge musicians might face in Denver is navigating the impact of its rapid growth on the arts community. This expansion has led to a higher cost of living and increased competition for performance spaces, making it increasingly difficult for emerging artists to secure affordable venues and housing. Additionally, Denver’s unique geographical feature, its high altitude, poses a distinct challenge for performers, especially vocalists and wind instrument players. 

The thinner air requires some adjustment to ensure optimal performance quality, which can be a hurdle for those new to the area or visiting artists. Despite these challenges, Denver’s dynamic arts scene and community support continue to make it a compelling city for musicians.
