Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Llanas.
Hi Jessica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a certified Prenatal, Postnatal , and children’s yoga instructor. I have been teaching prenatal yoga for 10 years. In addition, I also teach childbirth education classes. I have three beautiful children. When I was pregnant with my first child I lived in Wisconsin and took a prenatal yoga class. It was an amazing eperience. I continued to attend that class throughout my pregnancy and when it came time for birth, I utilized the breathing and focus I learned in prenatal yoga. I felt it was integral to getting me through my labor experience. When I decided to take yoga teacher training, I knew that prenatal yoga would be my focus. Pregnancy is such a beautiful transformative stage of life and I wanted to be able to give other women the experience of prenatal yoga that I had.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’d say it has been pretty smooth. I took my yoga teacher training at Pranava Yoga Center (Colorado Springs) in 2014 and then shortly after in 2015 took my prenatal Yoga training at Yo Mama ( Boulder). After teaching prenatal yoga for several years, I took a children’s yoga training at Omtastic Yoga ( Colorado Springs) in 2021. I completed my childbirth education training in 2025.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in prenatal yoga. I love what I do!! In my classes I focus on relieving the tensions associated with pregnancy, preparing for birth, and creating a supportive community. I love talking about pregnancy and birth and giving women and partners the tools to create a confident empowered birth experience. In addition to teaching prenatal yoga, I am proud to lead a workshop called ‘Yoga for Birth: a workshop for expecting parents’. In this workshop pregnant women and support partners learn breathing techniques and poses used in yoga classes that can be helpful for the labor experience. I also lead postnatal classes for moms with their babies from newborn to walking. For the children, I lead a yoga class geared towards toddlers ages 2-5. We practice yoga through poses, games, songs, art, and general silliness! I love teaching about pregnancy, birth, and the labor experience through childbirth education classes.
What’s next?
I am currently working on a prenatal couples yoga class where we explore connection through partner yoga poses.
I love to continue learning and growing. My future plans are to take training to become a postpartum doula. I’d love to be able to offer support to families in the postpartum period. I would also like to take some education courses through Postpartum Support International. They focus on education and support for families dealing with perinatal mental health conditions.
