Daily Inspiration: Meet Jhazzy Wolf

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jhazzy Wolf. 

Hi Jhazzy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Ever since I was a little girl, I always knew I wanted to do music. My mom would always sing in the car and write her own music. So, when I was older and started discovering my own talent, I know music was my dream and purpose! I started doing music on a more serious and professional level when I was about 17 and I moved to San Diego with some friends. That’s when I started actually creating records and getting in the studio!! I never pictured myself doing anything but music! Every night I would go to Open Mics and network and try to learn as much as I can about how to make my dreams of music come true! I spent about 7 years in California absorbing information, building my Jhazzy Wolf brand, and well as my fan base before making my way back to Colorado last year. 

Since I’ve been back my music has taken off! I was able to come back to my roots and create some amazing music. I went on a Tour in 2021 to Florida and performed all over Colorado. I got my music played ok The Drop 104.7fm. Truly amazing things happened when I came home, but what I’m most proud of is the creation of my Wolf Wednesdays Open Mic. As I mentioned earlier, I started my music journey going to Open Mics in San Diego, so I wanted to bring that culture home!!! Where artists can showcase their talent and network with other like-minded individuals! I started in May of 2021 doing it every Wednesday at on a weekly basis, flash forward too 2022 & we are huge!! I’ve created my own little Wolf Pack with Wolf Wednesdays, promoting myself but also giving back to other artists by helping pave a way to more exposure and opportunities! 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s never easy being an independent artist!! These days, you have to really put your money where your mouth is and invest into yourself if you want to make it somewhere! But because I fund myself, it definitely has made the process a lot longer! That’s is part if the reason I created Wolf Wednesdays open mic, I wanted to created some revenue I could invest back into my career. 

One if the biggest struggles thus far for me though was pretty recent. In the 2 week of February, I crashed my car and a few days later I broke my ankle! It was like God was telling me to slow down or something… I had to get medal plates and screws to put my ankle back together! It was truly a nightmare! But during all of this, we had one of the biggest nights at wolf Wednesdays and I was also booked for some shows during sxsw! So even with this broken ankle the grind has not stopped! I will be still be traveling and chasing my dreams of music

I am Jhazzy Wolf, a singer/ songwriter & the creator of Wolf Wednesdays Open Mic. What sets me apart from others is my unique sound & drive to success! You can find my music streaming on all platforms and Wolf Wednesdays is every Wednesday at 7:30 pm downtown Denver next to Gin Millz 2045 Larimer St. 

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is when I traveled to Brazil for the first time. Seeing a 3rd world country at such a young age really taught me a lot and helped shape who I am today.
