Daily Inspiration: Meet Jillian Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jillian Davis. 

Hi Jillian, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started my blog almost 5 years ago after people around me kept telling me I should start one. They would tell me they loved how real and vulnerable I am, of course with a little hint of sarcasm. Then my blog kept growing. I got more emails of how things I’ve written have helped them in one way or another. It’s now not just a therapy for myself but an outlet for all of us moms to come together, and learn to love ourselves while growing as mothers. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t, but what good things in our lives come without rocky moments? I have had moments where I have felt unmotivated to write or unworthy of giving advice in any capacity. I’ve learned though that my honesty in my less great moments is what makes other people feel not alone in that imperfection. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a blogger for nearly 5 years, I’ve really honed in on being a parenting blog. It isn’t about perfection. It is however about learning and growing together. As a mom of 11 years now, I’ve attempted many avenues of parenting. Some have failed and some have succeeded. That’s where I’m able to share and help others grow. I would say I am most proud of how I have grown in my writing. I would say go back to some of my first blogs, but maybe you shouldn’t. 

I’m different from others in the aspect of that I have dropped the idea of needing to be a certain type of way and allowed the real me to shine through. It’s okay to be different and unique! 

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My vulnerability is key to my success. I don’t put on a front. I am a messy, emotional, sarcastic mom, and I am unapologetic about it.
