Daily Inspiration: Meet Katie Waite

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Waite.

Hi Katie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My love for entertaining started early with my grandmother. I grew up helping her prepare for formal dinner parties and I was often her “plus one” to grand social events where etiquette, presentation, and guest experience truly mattered. Think “Palm Royale” level experience. Those are cherished memories.

Years later, I said yes to decorating a neighbor’s wedding reception. What I didn’t expect was to end up running the entire event, and loving it. That moment sparked my career in wedding and event planning.

Today, I blend my creativity with logistics to design weddings that feel beautiful, seamless, and thoughtfully planned. I’m equal parts artist and problem-solver known for making things work, stretching budgets wisely, and creating celebrations that never lose their magic.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Anything you’re passionate about comes with bumps in the road. Every event teaches me something new about myself, my business, and my clients. I’ve learned to pace myself, manage staff, avoid burnout, and keep up with trends in a fast-moving industry. The best advice I give myself is that real growth happens when you admit you don’t know everything, it keeps me open, adaptable, and ready to learn

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I often describe myself as a wedding consultant because I want couples to know from the start that what I offer is different. My approach is needs-based.

Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of couples, each with unique priorities, needs, and planning styles. My focus is simple: helping couples spend their time, energy, and budget on what truly matters to them, so their wedding feels like an experience they’re excited to share. My services are just as flexible as my approach, from full-service planning and day-of coordination to DIY guidance, all-inclusive support, and à la carte consultations and design.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I find inspiration everywhere, through all forms of art, from music and movies to social media trends. I’m always noticing colors, patterns, and textures. I study the arts and humanities to keep my perspective fresh. All of these influences become a creative palette I draw from when designing unique and meaningful experiences for my clients.
