Today we’d like to introduce you to LATA PRABHU.
Hi LATA, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Meet Lata Prabhu — the heart behind InVogue Events.
One of the most sought-after event designers in Colorado and across the U.S, Lata Prabhu is known for crafting events/weddings and celebrations that are not only breathtaking in beauty, but deeply meaningful. Her work is timeless yet personal, elegant yet soulful – a true reflection of the people she designs for.
But behind the beauty and brilliance of every InVogue event is a story shaped by humility, heart, and heritage.
Born and raised in India, Lata’s journey began at just 15 when she helped plan her sister’s wedding — accompanying her father to vendors, choosing fabrics and florals, and unknowingly planting the seeds of a lifelong calling. From planning family birthdays to corporate events, Lata brought grace and intention to every detail long before it became her profession.
After moving to the U.S., her quiet brilliance quickly stood out. Friends and community members turned to her for more than help – they sought her vision, her magic, and the care she brings to every gathering. With their encouragement, she founded InVogue Events – a full-service planning and design production house now synonymous with elegance, authenticity, and cultural sensitivity.
Over the years, Lata has built more than just events – she’s built trust, lasting relationships, and a legacy of beauty and heart. With over years of experience, she has become a beloved name in the wedding world — admired by peers, adored by clients, and especially cherished in the South Asian community. She’s been recognized by Governor John Hickenlooper and honored with The Knot’s Best of Weddings and WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards. But for Lata, the real reward lies in the love and trust of the families she serves.
What makes her truly extraordinary is the spirit she brings into every celebration. She listens deeply, leads with love, and creates with purpose. Her designs don’t just elevate events – they honor stories, celebrate cultures, and bring people together through beauty and belonging.
Behind her success is a foundation of love – her family. At its core stands her husband, whose quiet strength, steadfast support, and belief in her dreams have been instrumental in every step of her journey. A true partner in every sense, he has lifted her through long nights, big visions, and countless milestones.
Her proudest role, though, is being a devoted mother to two incredible sons. In them, she sees the values she lives by: resilience, kindness, and compassion. They’ve watched her build InVogue not just as a business, but as a reflection of love, purpose, and strength.
InVogue is more than a brand – it is Lata’s heart in motion. Fueled by passion, grounded in culture, and guided by soul, she doesn’t just design events – she creates moments that last a lifetime.
Lata Prabhu is more than a planner and a designer. She’s a storyteller. A dream-weaver. A connector of generations and cultures.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any profession, event/wedding planning comes with its share of challenges – long hours, high emotions, last-minute curveballs, and the pressure to make every moment picture-perfect. For South Asian weddings, the complexity grows with multi-day events, large guest lists, rich traditions, and the delicate dance of blending cultures and generations.
But here’s the truth, every challenge is also a lesson. Every hiccup is an opportunity to grow, to adapt, and to serve better.
For instance, we once helped relocate a wedding just a couple of months before the date, working with a venue the clients had booked before partnering with us, and navigated Colorado’s unpredictable weather with a solid backup plan. In another case, when a key priest couldn’t attend due to a sudden health issue 2 days prior to the wedding date, we quickly found a replacement to ensure the ceremony’s smooth flow, especially crucial in South Asian weddings where rituals hold deep meaning and cultural diversity is vast.
India alone has 28 states, each with its own unique cultural values and traditions. Many of our weddings are even more intricate, blending South Asian customs with other non-Indian backgrounds. Understanding and honoring the nuances of each tradition takes years of experience and deep respect, ensuring every ritual is celebrated authentically and meaningfully.
I’ve learned to see struggles not as setbacks, but as stepping stones – moments that sharpen your instincts, deepen your empathy, and strengthen your purpose. In this journey, it’s not about avoiding challenges, but about embracing them with grace, resilience, and heart.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in full-service South Asian and multicultural wedding planning, but what truly sets us apart is that we are a complete one-stop shop. From meticulous planning and logistics to elegant floral design, custom backdrops, and luxe décor – everything is handled in-house. This seamless integration allows for beautifully cohesive events, personalized to every detail. This holistic, hands-on approach sets InVogue Events apart in the wedding industry.
What makes InVogue unique is our deep commitment to our couples – especially our brides. We’re not just planners, we’re partners. From guiding with bridal couture selections to supporting her through every decision and detail, we’re with her every step of the way — making the journey joyful, stress-free, and deeply meaningful.
Clients often describe InVogue as a calm presence amidst the chaos — known for grace under pressure, cultural expertise, and heartfelt care. Our work is not just about timelines or tablescapes – it’s about building trust, creating memories, and celebrating your story with elegance and intention.
At InVogue Events, our greatest pride lies in the trust and loyalty of our clients – many of whom become lifelong friends. We’re honored to be the only South Asian wedding planner and designer in Colorado offering a truly comprehensive experience under one roof – from planning and design to florals, décor, and custom backdrops.
Beyond the accolades, what defines us most is the lasting relationships we build. Our clients consistently share how seen, heard, and celebrated they feel throughout the process – a reflection of our deep commitment to care, connection, and cultural understanding.
We’re not just here to plan events – we’re here to create meaningful experiences. Every celebration we design honors tradition, embraces innovation, and turns dreams into reality with heart, elegance, and precision. It’s this passion for storytelling through weddings that continues to set InVogue Events apart.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
At InVogue Events, the most valuable lesson I’ve learned is the importance of deep listening and adaptability. Every client and celebration is uniquely beautiful, so truly understanding each couple’s vision and staying flexible is essential. Being fully present and approaching challenges with calm creativity allows us to deliver seamless, heartfelt experiences that go beyond just logistics. For instance, we once helped relocate a wedding just a couple of months before the date—working with a venue the clients had booked before partnering with us, and navigated Colorado’s unpredictable weather with a solid backup plan. In another case, when a key priest couldn’t attend due to a sudden health issue 2 days prior to the wedding date, we quickly found a replacement to ensure the ceremony’s smooth flow, especially crucial in South Asian weddings where rituals hold deep meaning and cultural diversity is vast.

Understanding and honoring the nuances of each tradition takes years of experience and deep respect, ensuring every ritual is celebrated authentically and meaningfully.
I hold cultural traditions in the highest regard while thoughtfully blending modern touches to create events that feel both authentic and fresh. This balance of respect and innovation, along with resilience and genuine connection, defines InVogue Events’ approach -helping us craft memorable weddings that truly reflect each couple’s unique story. These lessons embody our commitment to excellence, cultural sensitivity, and grace under pressure, qualities that have shaped our reputation and success.
