Daily Inspiration: Meet Lauren Daniels

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Daniels.

Hi Lauren, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Coming out of college, I had a degree in education. I loved people and kids and teaching. So I was a teacher for five years to many 5 and 6 and 7-year-olds. And I loved the part of the job from 7:30-3:30 where I was in the classroom teaching. However, that’s not all that being a teacher is. Being a teacher is a 24/7 job that requires you to put yourself 2nd.

After five years in the classroom, I decided teaching was not a career I could continue as my own health suffered. I was grateful and lucky to immediately be introduced to the world of real estate where I could still work with people and educate them – just at a different age in life! The first year or so was as tough as they say it is. People knew me as a teacher, not a Realtor. But in real estate, you get out of it what you put into it. So I built my sphere, networked, learned the business and have continued to grow my business year after year to new heights.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The first year of real estate was tough for me. My sphere knew me as a teacher, not a Realtor. It’s a tough business to get into initially because you are not guaranteed any income and it is a very saturated market. I definitely had to plan ahead for that, knowing that it could take some time to build my reputation before earning a comfortable income to live on. But my go-to saying, and it really hits hard for me, is “you get out of it, what you put into it.” If you work really hard in this line of business, you will see results. It’s also very important to continue to hustle as long as the market allows for good business because real estate is not always guaranteed to be on the up and up. It’s been so important for me to continue to plan for the future.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Realtor specializing in residential, land, relocation, first-time homebuyers, investors, new builds, luxury. I’ve seen and it experienced it all! I’m most proud of how I present myself and how I help buyers and sellers through the process. This is also what sets me apart from the many other realtors in this business. This isn’t just a paycheck – this is the most important purchase that most of my clients will ever make. I work with my clients from the moment they reach out and ask their first question until long after closing the date – generally becoming friends with many of my clients. No two transactions are ever the same and it’s almost guaranteed you’ll run into a new obstacle in every transaction. It’s so important to have problem-solving skills in this business.

What matters most to you?
Making sure my clients are happy and knowing that I have done everything I can to get them what they want, done all my research, and really working through those tough moments that can make or break a deal.
