Daily Inspiration: Meet Lydia Stryker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lydia Stryker. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Lydia discovered her love for silversmithing in high school through evening courses but has since been self-teaching techniques. During a family trip to Thailand, Lydia stumbled upon a lively afternoon silversmithing class where she saw this teaching style as a fantastic way to spread joy and a sense of accomplishment. Now, she’s thrilled to bring this concept and outlet for creativity to the people of Denver.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As with most journeys of passion and hard work, the road to opening Stryker Studio was not without its challenges. Lydia is a young business owner, opening her Stryker Studio at just 20 years old. Lydia had to take on the responsibility of transforming her passion for silversmithing into a profitable business, staffing and training her team, purchasing equipment, etc. Despite all of these challenges, Stryker Studio opened to the public on February 6th and has been selling out workshops since.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Stryker Studio is Denver’s first silversmithing workshop experience, providing a unique hands-on experience to craft a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry in a fun-filled afternoon or evening. Stryker Studio opened with a mission that goes beyond creating unique jewelry pieces. They hope to empower individuals with tools and torches of creativity, fostering a proud sense of accomplishment and pride.

Stryker Studio is part of a jewelry shop, with the primary focus of the space dedicated to silversmithing. Rings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, bolo ties, and even accessories for pets are available to customize and purchase on-site. Stryker Studio offers two daily sessions as well as private events.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Lydia has always been inspired by the podcast “How I Built This with Guy Raz” which takes you through the startup journey of some of the biggest companies in the world. It has helped guide her through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, recognizing that there will be roadblocks, but success is in how you navigate it.

Pricing:

• Dive into our creative workshops starting at just $85. This includes the silver and studio fees. Then choose your gem, typically ranging between $ 10 and $50. Feeling extra fancy? Add unique design features or fun bands. (totally optional, and a bit extra). Your masterpiece’s total cost will be a combo of the base price and your gem choice, with most finished pieces falling between $100 and $160.
