Today we’d like to introduce you to Marissa Searle.
Hi Marissa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We opened on March 1, 2023. Almost a year ago as I write this. I have been in the holistic health field for over 20 years and found a love for herbalism, skincare, and botanical skincare formulation. I knew I wanted the feel to be like going back to the old thyme’s and when this 1950’s cabin in the Forest opened up, I had to give it a go and see if I could rent it and make my dream come true.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A day after signing my lease I was in a car accident which totaled my new truck. It was tough to get the shop up and running while going to school and dealing with all that comes along with something like an accident. But with the help of friends and this amazing community, this first year has been truly amazing. Slower going than I anticipated, but it’s such a blessing and continues to be!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been studying herbalism for the past 9 years as well as organic skincare formulation. Taking that next step to get my professional aesthetics license was my biggest accomplishment and definitely more work than I thought.
Especially being one of the “older” ladies in class. Ha! But I love what I do. Combining botanical knowledge with working with the skin naturally is truly my passion! I love learning and continue to do so, daily. And I am so grateful for all who have trusted me so far!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
It is all prayer and spiritual guidance. I don’t really believe in luck. Tuning into what we are designed to do while here on Earth and making things happen. But it takes a tribe, we can’t do anything successfully alone in this life. I am forever grateful for all who come into my life to help enrich my life – in all aspects!
