Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew O’Brien.
Hi Matthew , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I Started Bicycle Mobile Tune when I was 50 years old in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
I was a Pastry chef for many years on the east coast and on cruise ships. I received a Gold Medal James Beard award in the 1990s for Plated Deserts.
In 2020 Covid hit the world and I had to refer to my old tricks to get through. I had been on workers compensation for a torn biceps.
I figured tuning bikes at people’s home or place of work was a good idea.
I started in my son’s high school parking lot on a.Sunday. Mountain Vista in Highlands Ranch.
I had been set up for 5 minutes when a truck pulled up with a mother and son. They were practicing driving.
She showed me the issue and said it would cost ove $200. I correctect the part with the help of her son and had it fixed in a couple of minutes. No cost. She gave me.my first $40
That was a great day and I have been busy ever since. Thaaank You!
I am bringing hospitality to the bike tuning world. I teach as I tune. The more you know about your bicycles, the safer you can be.
I am in my sixth year and going strong.
Thank you to everyone that has trusted me with your bikes!
Rock out and ill see you on the trails.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have never owned my own business. It has been difficult going from working for someone to working for myself.
You go through a lot of vehicles. At least one transmission rebuild a year. Cost of doing business
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are proud to be the only Mobile Bike Tuning business that teaches as we tune.
It gives us an opportunity to build a relationship with the client. Trust is everything in any business, especially at home hospitality based businesses.
We want our clients to engage us while tuning. The more they know, the safer they can be on their bikes.
