Today we’d like to introduce you to Melanie Lynn.
Hi Melanie , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The story of how I got to where I am today is, on one hand, winding and complex, and on the other, surprisingly clear.
I grew up in New Jersey, spending as much time in the forest as I could. I loved the quiet—the stillness that let me hear my thoughts and footsteps. It was a much-needed refuge. When I was young, I lost my mother, and by the time I was 10, my father had remarried a woman who, as we later discovered, was deeply troubled. The forest became my shelter, and the place that ignited my drive to heal.
Later, I went to college assuming I’d become something like Indiana Jones. Seeking adventure, I moved to Colorado at 19, lived in the mountains, learned to ski, and eventually finished a history degree at CU. Though I was no closer to becoming an archaeologist, I found meaningful work as a preschool and kindergarten teacher, always weaving in the wonder and magic of nature.
Like many with a traumatic childhood, I eventually found myself in a trauma bond type relationship in my early 20s. I was unwell, and my body was growing weaker every day. After countless doctors and practitioners, I knew I needed a new way to look at healing. That’s when I met a healer who changed everything for me. She introduced me to the deep energetics of the body—the way our lifestyle and emotions can literally shape our physical health. After several years of working with her, my body grew stronger, I left the relationship, and I healed. She is now my mentor, and I am forever grateful.
During this time, I also explored many healing modalities: massage school, Reiki Master training, shamanic practices, Tarot, Touch for Health, Eden Energy Work, specialized kinesiology, plant communication, Internal Family Systems, Trauma work—always studying the profound connection between body and mind.
Now, my focus is on helping sensitive people and folks in transitions, access the voice of the body to uncover the root causes of their challenges. My teacher’s work, Dynamic Self-Integration (DSI), is the foundation of what I do. DSI is a holistic healing approach that combines modern therapies and ancient practices to activate the body’s natural energies for balance, health, and fulfillment. Using techniques like applied kinesiology, energy work, and Internal Family Systems, it addresses both physical and emotional roots of imbalance. Each session is highly individualized, helping people restore their original potential and create lasting change.
This work has taught me that I CAN heal and have all I need inside me to do so. This doesn’t mean I don’t have challenges here and there but I have more tools to meet them, move through them, and get to the root of it all every time.
This is now the work I carry forward—and I could not be more grateful to have found it all those years ago.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a mom, owning and operating a business comes with its own unique challenges. Some days feel wonderfully productive, and others feel like they’ve been chopped into tiny little fragments. There are times when I can’t work or need to cancel because of family or school needs. Sometimes I will find myself spinning a little trying to make everything fit but when I can be still and listen I can find the acceptance to lean into the season I find myself in and honor that.
It’s also taken me a long time to really know and value my own worth. There’s so much talk these days about imposter syndrome, and it’s real. It’s all too easy to believe someone else is wiser, smarter, more capable… you name it. As a healer, I’ve even had moments when my own body loudly demanded attention, and I thought, “Wait, aren’t I supposed to be perfect to help others?” Recently, I’ve been healing from a frozen shoulder. At first, I felt like I had failed somehow. But when I sat with that feeling, found compassion for myself, and listened, I began to see my shoulder as a teacher rather than an enemy. Once I stopped fighting it, healing came—and now it’s 95% better.
What I’m learning, more and more each day, is that we each carry our own unique medicine—the very thing someone out there specifically needs. If we hide it, the world misses out (and so do we). It’s not always an easy lesson, but it’s an important one.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Like I touched on before, I work with ancient systems like the Traditional Chinese Medicine system and merge them with modern techniques like applied kinesiology and IFS to get to the root of someone’s specific issue or health challenge. I think what makes what I offer unique is the simple fact that I’m not here to “fix you.” I’m here to help awaken the intelligence—the healer that’s already inside you—and work in partnership to help you find ways to heal.
Because I draw from so many wonderful traditions, there will always be a balanced, holistic, grounded, and even exciting new way of looking at your specific health challenge.
It’s also my priority to really deeply listen, witness, find the patterns, and truly value what’s going on for you. Together, we’ll go as fast or as slow as you need, with plenty of space to check in and get creative along the way.
Finally, I’m passionate about shifting the paradigm and making healing accessible to anyone who needs it. I still need to make a living, of course, but I offer a sliding scale and I’m open to hearing a person’s story to assess how I can help them best—physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially.
This work is so dear to my heart. I am super proud of not only how far I have come using it but truly exited to offer it to others! In the end we are all working towards the same goal: How can I be comfortable and at ease in my body and live into who I really, truly am as I navigate these fascinating, awe-filled, and trying times on this planet. This work can make your journey much more comfortable! Green Fox Healings, my business, was born out of this desire to be a guide, partner, helper on people’s healing paths.
In my spare time I love to hike with my family, sing, play my ukulele and guitar, write, lose myself in fantasy fiction, and play with my very cute dogs Bear and Gertie.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see the healing and wellness industry continuing to shift toward more personalized and holistic approaches. People will increasingly want healing that’s tailored to their unique bodies, emotions, and life experiences, blending ancient and modern practices . I also think (hope) this kind of healing will become more integrated into mainstream healthcare. While virtual care is wonderful and convenient, I hope that there is a resurgence of in person practitioner care, especially those utilizing somatic strategies. I really hope for a growing focus on emotional and trauma-informed work, gentle, non-invasive methods, and approaches that honor sustainability and accessibility—making it possible for more people to experience deep, transformative healing.
