Daily Inspiration: Meet Michael Rush

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Rush.

Hi Michael, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my real estate journey marketing homes for a luxury real estate team in 2017. I started to figure out that if I wanted to take control of my life and create the future of my dreams, I would have to become someone worthy of that success. On my three-hour daily commute, I started learning everything I could about real estate investing and the mindset that it takes to become a successful entrepreneur. I changed my morning routines and began discovering exactly what I wanted by writing my goals and what I was grateful for every day. After seeing the checks that some of the top producers on the team were making and also seeing how volatile this business can be if you don’t work by referral, I decided to get a coach and get my real estate license. I quickly started to brand myself as Your Colorado Real Estate Guide and I knew that I would be building a long-term referral-based business. In my first year producing as a real estate agent, I almost doubled my salary. In my second year, I more than doubled that. And I am currently in my third full year of production. I am blessed to be where I am and so grateful for all of my wonderful clients. I will be creating a team over the next year dedicated to helping veteran real estate agents create a retirement plan by developing a commission split agreement with them and getting to know their clients as we transition them into retirement.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say that most of my success has been because of my mindset, focusing on gratitude and what I can accomplish in the present moment, and because of going deeper with client relationships. It is not a smooth road, there are plateaus, but your mindset is what helps you shorten the length of these plateaus.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am going to be positioning myself as a Realtor and team leader that helps retiring agents who work by referral create a retirement for themselves as they transition out of business. I also want to help my colleagues invest their money into incredible cash-flowing real estate across the United States so that they start building multiple streams of income. Retirement isn’t something that comes easily for a real estate agent unless you are intentional and I hope to help people in that area.

What were you like growing up?
I couldn’t sit still and really wanted to be active and constantly moving. I loved making people laugh and it definitely didn’t make me the teacher’s favorite student. I enjoyed riding dirtbikes and atvs, camping, and breaking the rules.
