Today we’d like to introduce you to Nico Gomez-Lucero.

Hi Nico, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My Photography journey began at Denver West High School in my junior year. I loaned a camera from our tech teacher to start taking pictures of my some of my junior moments. Little did I know that those junior moments would take me to the football field where I captured my first sports photos. I had zero clue what I was doing with photography, but I didn’t take me long to get the hang of it all.

Many of my peers asked me to come to games and capture their own moments.

Shortly after graduating from Denver West I thought my photography journey was done but my former/current students asked me to return and take even more photos.

I purchased all my own starter gear (camera, lenses, bag and more) and it slowly became Nico Gomez Photography LLC

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been. Photography isn’t just snapping cameras. Its connecting with the atmosphere that you are in or connecting with the client Infront of you. I had to learn how to control a camera before i could even market myself. Editing didn’t come easily either. You can own a camera but knowing how to use it is another step. I had doubts in my own capabilities but time and time again i proved myself wrong. I became a independent photographer and the owner of my own photography business.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Nico Gomez Photography LLC is a company that shows the world through different lenses. My self-made photography business started from a simple want from peers. A small interest turned into a full-time business.

What sets me apart from other photography businesses is my desire to be better for myself and my clients. We all passions and goals in our businesses but Nico Gomez Photography is the choice you always want to make. I deeply connect with my clients and i create long lasting memories for years to come.

I’m most proud of how much I’ve grown in my own brand. I have an official logo and website along with booking process. Senior year Nico would be baffled that i own and produce my own photography business.

It can be a very intimidating challenge to work with a professional photographer. But not all photographers can help you see the world through different lenses. With Nico Gomez Photography our goal is to deeply connect with our clients. I promise to create a safe space and ensure that your photoshoot will leave lasting memories for years to come. My edit style brings out the best in people, my creativity will push the limits of my imagination. I promise that booking with me will never disappoint. In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I currently am studying at Metropolitan University of Denver earning my degree in Sports Management. I see myself being an athletic director of high schools’ sports or even a major league. For my photography business, I want to be taking pro level photography. Athletics, Weddings and so much more. I want my camera equipment to be my dream set up. I want to go back and give young photographers an opportunity to grow and become future entrepreneurs of our society.

My role model and pro wrestler Mercedes Moné once quoted Kendrick Lamar
“Although the butterfly and caterpillar are completely different they are one and the same” I live by this quote everyday along with “Be so good they can’t ignore you” – Sasha Banks.

I want to break down doors and create a movement for myself and future generations. I’m just a small factor in the change of our society but if I can make change then I’m going to do it by “showing people the world through different lenses” -Nico Gomez Photography LLC
