Daily Inspiration: Meet Nina Than

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Than

Hi Nina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started doing nails when I was 17. At first it was just a part time job to earn a little extra cash. However, as time go on my love and passion for nails grow more and more. I have always work in a salon setting. But a salon setting is very toxic and I feel that I don’t grow if I keep working for salon. So I finally decided to start my own studio/ small business. I love the flexibility and the freedom that I get being my own boss and I learned so much as a business owner.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing is easy especially when it comes to owning a business. I have many challenges including how to start a business, of course there’s been so much mistakes and wrong choices. However, I think those mistakes does help me grow and learn so much. Building the clientele at first is very difficult and try building your own brand does take a lot of time. However, I think that if you’re passionate about it you will succeed. It is just a matter of time. Even if you don’t succeed, you will know that have you tried your best with no regrets.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do pedicures, manicures, dip powder, gelx, acrylics, and nail art. I love to give my client the best experience because a lot of people think when they go get their nails done, it’s like a chore. I am fast and efficient and I give the best “therapy” session through our conversations. I love to connect with my client and get to know them!

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I am so lucky to have a loving and supportive family, my husband and my two kids. They are my motivations to work hard and not give up when there’s obstacles on the path that I take. When it comes to business I feel like I get so much help from everyone around me. The love and support I get is awesome!
