Daily Inspiration: Meet Paige Schmidt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Schmidt.

Paige Schmidt

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

My first job in the industry was as an intern with UNC’s (Chapel Hill) strength and conditioning program where I was working with some of the best collegiate athletes in the nation. Once my time was up there, I moved on to work in many different settings including wellness centers, sports teams, corporate gyms, privately owned gyms, you name it.

It was great at the beginning of my career because I was able to gain a ton of experience from working with individuals who had various goals and limitations. I was also able to gain a wealth of knowledge from other great trainers who were kind enough to take the time to educate me further. With that being said, I quickly realized that while working in these types of gyms I was hustling every day to get in front of new faces and gain new clients.

I figured, if I was going to hustle, I might as well do it for MYSELF and MY business! I knew that I had the passion, grit, knowledge, and drive to start my own business, it was just a matter of the right timing. And then I quickly realized that there was NO right timing, I just had to go for it and have faith.

So in January 2021, I went out on my own and that’s how S.C.U.L.P.T. was created! I am so glad that I did because it has not only allowed me to learn so much about myself but has also taught me how to become a better businesswoman. I have been in this industry for almost a decade and am constantly learning learning and growing from when I first started.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think that like any other new small business, there are some obstacles to face and some learning curves. But I wouldn’t necessarily say that anything has been a struggle. I understand that in my profession and in this industry, there will be ebbs and flows. It is my job to stay on top of everything that is necessary to make a business successful and also stay on top of what’s happening within the industry.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in helping individuals with weight loss, muscle build, and optimizing body composition. I am passionate about teaching each individual that I have the privilege to work with that there are no quick fixes to your health. It is a process. It is a journey. It is a complete lifestyle change. I make sure to guide them with the appropriate tools that will set them up for success in their fitness journey. I also acknowledge the fact that my clients will most likely not be working with me for the rest of their lives (sad I know!).

So I do my best to educate them so that when our time together comes to an end, they feel confident to take what they learned and maintain their routine and progress. I think that one of the main things that I love and want to speak about in what I do is the connections that I make with my clients. It’s kind of funny to think about, but on average, I see my clients at least twice per week.

So we see each other more than we see most family and friends. And so although the relationship stays professional, we really become invested in each other’s lives and care about what each other has going on. It is also a priority of mine to make each client feel comfortable and safe while working with me because I understand that it can be a vulnerable setting for some and out of their comfort zone to ask for help with changing their body.

I am just extremely appreciative of all who put their trust in me and asked me to help them on their journey! I am also proud of the fact that I offer everything from one-on-one to small group, to online training. So I have options for everyone, regardless of scheduling, budget, etc! And with my online training, you can be anywhere in the country!

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I listen to and read a lot of self help and auto biography books and like to use You Tube as a huge resource to educate myself. One of the most recent books that I read that has stuck with me is “The Power of Habit ” by Charles Duhigg. With you tube a follow quite a few people within my industry who have really helped me evolve with my programming. One of them being Renaissance Periodization.
