Daily Inspiration: Meet Precious Kofi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Precious Kofi.

Hi Precious, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m originally from Cape Town South Africa where I enjoyed expressing my creativity through creating impactful television programming. Once I arrived in the USA I knew that my desire was to focus on my family and caring for my children. After years of being a stay-at-home mom, I started having an itch to create something that would fulfill my energies. It was during the pandemic when I started to paint more often. At first, it was a form of therapy and in some ways it still is. Except now, the artwork is sold and enjoyed by my collectors.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been a road of learning more about myself and how I respond to life and its complexities. The most important part of the journey has been the ability to remember that we can choose how to feel about any given situation. This power in choice gives us the ability to understand our true value as human beings, which is always in the humanity of the person rather than what they can produce.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an artist. I create work according to what I feel internally. In the process of painting, I am able to feel through my life and find release and often needed personal validation. The artwork is able to reflect back to me how I truly feel. And this honest response is something I find to be extremely sacred and beautiful.

How do you think about luck?
Luck is a wonderful thing and I believe myself to be one of the luckiest people. It is possible that this belief is what creates more luck. In the morning when I wake up, I prepare myself to be lucky by affirming that I am and have always been so.
