Daily Inspiration: Meet Ras Moses

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ras Moses

Hi Ras, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in NYC. Owned and sold a yoga and healing center and moved to Colorado during the begining of the green rush. It was like the wild west. Pounds were being slung left and right and everyone and thier mother was growing “medical marijuana “. I had Cannabis tour company and delivery service and produced the first Medical Marijuana festival with great success.

Now I sit as a board member of the humanitarian organization www.uniteethiopia.org , was founding president of The Colorado House of Rastafari and now am the international reggae artist known as RasMoses.

My latest project is I am in the planning and fundraising stages of opening an Eco Retreat at the base of Mt. Blanca in the beautiful and remote San Luis Valley.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am meditation teacher and most of the time even the stumbling blocks become stepping stones if my perception is right.

With challenges and struggles come victory. It seems failures are fuel for the fire of success.

A major disappointment after a consulting job I did in Jamaica lead me to the path of music. I saw red flags with owner multimillion medical marijuana business in Jamaica that I help build so I decided to walk away from it but felt a bit depressed . As I was licking my wounds I began going to Clear Creek in Golden where I was living at the time and began playing guitar and singing and it made me feel better and then people started encouraging me by giving tips and enjoying the music so at that moment I said if this can heal my soul maybe it can uplift others. Years later, I have performed world wide and get extensive radio play throughout Europe, Africa , Latin America and here in the states.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
RasMoses is reggae singer and chanter backed by world class musicians. Currently I have a top 40 song on steady radio rotation and looking forward to perform at the Unite Africa Festival in South Africa end of May of this year.

My music is message music to uplift and to bring unity. Over the years I have worked with producers from Kingston ,Jamaica to Paris, France to Lagos Nigeria.

My latest album Amen is available on all digital platforms.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe in Luck. When Perseverance, patience, persistence, and practice meets opportunity success is assured.

As a rasta man, I move with faith. Trust + Graitude = Miracles

The mind combined with the spirit of love is the most potent formula . Everyone has gifts. Just like knowledge it is meant to be shared!
