Daily Inspiration: Meet Sami Martinez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sami Martinez.

Hi Sami, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m from Miami, Florida. I am a 13 years old actress who started getting into this career at nine years old. I have been in music videos, fashion shows, voiceover projects and a few short films. On May 19, I came to Denver for the premiere of “Test Drive”. Last year I spent a few days filming and loved Denver and the scenery. What a great location to shoot a movie! Test Drive is a sci-fi short thriller written and directed by the greatest Sam Tahhan. We can’t wait to show it to the world!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has been incredible and rewarding. Some of the obstacles we have to face is dealing with COVID and follow all the protocols.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am the next generation of actors and would want to be a good example for the kids nowadays. If you work hard and focus on your passion, I think you can achieve any goals in life. I think being an actress is a rewarding career that you will continue learning and growing as you walk this journey. There is always room to learn and to improve.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Networking is all. Get to know your colleagues in the industry. I have met great kids actors in the process and they know my passion and my work, this provides me opportunities to work with them in projects or get to know other relevant people in the film industry.

I am lucky to have worked with people that gives me support and motivation. I am also thankful for my family. Without them, I wouldn’t be here telling you my achievements.
