Daily Inspiration: Meet Sara Moon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Moon.

Hi Sara, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been a restless seeker trying to add meaning to my life and impact others. In my late 40s, I have found a strong, confident voice in mentoring women, particularly moms, in learning to delegate, not be a martyr, and realize that good enough is plenty. I am the mom to two teen daughters age 14 and 16. I grew up in Houston, TX, went to The University of Texas, and graduated with an Elementary Education degree. I taught for 6 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom/photographer while my girls were young.

Our family of 4 relocated to Denver for work in July of 2015 and it’s the best thing we’ve ever done.

While here, I reinvented myself as an IT Recruiter and have started becoming the woman I’ve always wanted to be. Financially stepping into my own, starting a side job that is more fulfilling than I could have ever imagined, and being the best mom I know.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My mom unexpectedly passed away in 2021 which really rocked my world. My dad now lives with us and that has been interesting! Marriage has always been a challenge for my husband and I – no shame there. We continue to grow and learn how to adapt to each other over the last 20 years.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am IT Recruiter with a homegrown local recruiting firm…Epic Placements. I am an independent CBD advocate with Green Compass Global – an organic hemp company from North Carolina. This role really fills my cup. I help women use CBD products to help them feel so much better so they can operate as their best selves rather than being depleted and exhausted.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Adding goodness to the world. Affirming and supporting my fellow moms. Breaking generational cycles of moms thinking, being, and doing everything for everyone so they can live their own lives and then give to others as needed. When moms are more selfish, everyone truly wins.
