Daily Inspiration: Meet Savanna Steinhoff

Today we’d like to introduce you to Savanna Steinhoff.

Hi Savanna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My creative journey began in childhood and has advanced into my adult life.
I have always found joy in the arts, the outdoors, and community. From digging in the mud to dancing & singing, I have always found different mediums to express, explore my imagination, and understand myself. I use these important elements in many aspects of my life. I love living in Colorado. Easy access to the outdoors is paramount for my everyday joy. Stepping outside into a breathtaking environment sparks inspiration in my creative endeavors. I find myself imagining stories, concepts, and planning photo shoots in beautiful destinations I have had the pleasure to explore and love.

In the past, I felt I needed to complete the next step; now I have graduated with a Theatre Education and Theatre Studies BA, Dance Minor, and Arts Entrepreneurship Certificate. I don’t feel like I have to wait anymore; I never had to, but now I feel like I have the complete freedom to seize the day when inspiration strikes. There is no longer that impostor syndrome telling me I can’t do this or that… I can do whatever I want, and I have damn good tools and creatives to support my endeavors. My community, friends, and family have gotten me to where I am today.

I am creative! I am a storyteller! I am an Actor, Model, and Educator!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road is as bumpy as one can expect growing up in a rural community pursuing an artistic career. I have always been faced with the question “well… what are you really gonna do?” because a lot of rural Coloradians don’t see a future in the arts. I have always challenged that idea because art is all around us, and it is important. It has always been a joy in schools, communities, and a part of connection. Music, Film, TV, and Theatre all represent the people, their lives, and ideas. You could never step foot in a theatre, cinema, or venue of any kind and still experience art in your everyday life. The environment, the street, and the stories we tell one another at dinner parties and barbecues hold joy and art within them.

How could I not have creativity be a part of my career when it is so inherently a part of my values & my perception of a rich life?

I may not have an expensive life, but it is rich.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love teaching; it is an art in my eyes.
A very patient art, but very rewarding to see students open their eyes and minds to perspectives they haven’t faced before. Students growing & learning how to present themselves, communicate, and problem solve is what I enjoy most about teaching. Kids have the opportunity for so much potential, we need to give them the tools to use it to the best of their abilities in ways they enjoy their work and life. We are struggling so much right now to show the youth the value of education. I believe the arts are one of the strongest places to show the connection to education and the real world in practice.

Acting and Modeling are my main focus, though I do enjoy other creative positions such as singing, dancing, and directing.
Currently, I have been enjoying acting in local films and modeling for Colorado creatives and businesses! You can find me in a few local indie films, one being Field of Screams, currently streaming on Apple TV & Amazon Prime. I have been working and collaborating with photographers and businesses around Northern Colorado, Boulder, and the Denver area. I am based out of Estes Park, so lots of outdoor shoots. I would love to expand to more of the Roaring Fork Valley around Glenwood Springs and Aspen! I love the Western Slope of Colorado, as that is where I was raised. I moved out to the northern side of Colorado for college, and now I’m paying off my student debt!

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I enjoy getting to know other creatives, seeing the art they materialize, the variety of aesthetics in Colorado amazes me. I like to work with people in all sorts of mediums: photographers, directors of film or theatre, business owners, content creators, other actors, models, dancers, or singers are all people I would be interested in collaborating with.
Supporting local artists is achievable by staying aware of the constant creation. Staying connected with your arts departments with schools and cities in your community, the recreation department is a great place to start.
To support me suspiciously would be following my Instagram, as that’s where I keep my creative endeavors updated the most. There, you can find my upcoming projects or reach out to start a new one! @_YaGirlSav
