Daily Inspiration: Meet Seth Beamer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Seth Beamer.

Seth Beamer

Hi Seth, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started for me playing in bands. Of course, as a musician, it’s important to film and make content for yourself. Even in the early days of Facebook and Instagram, this was important. I grew to love that part of creating and quickly became the person who would make all of the content for the bands that I was in.

After years of doing that, some other artists in town began to ask me to help them with their content, and then more artists, and then businesses, until finally I realized I had a passion to turn this into a full-time business!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think starting a business is ever a smooth road. There’s a lot of imposter syndrome, hard months financially, and projects you might miss the mark on. Not to mention, the work doesn’t always come in by itself! But that’s all been things that I’m able to learn from, and after a bit of time, I feel like I can finally say I’m at a place where I have my wits about me. And I’m creating works that I am extremely proud of!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
In my video production business, I mostly work with artists and musicians on projects such as music videos, lyric videos, artist promos, photo shoots, social media content, etc. And while I love working with all types of clients (I’ve spent a lot of time in the real estate world as well) I absolutely love getting to work with artists and other creative people!

I briefly mentioned before, but I am an artist myself (Seth Beamer, check me out on Spotify, ayooooo) and I feel like this has given me a unique perspective on creating video work for my clients. I know what it feels like to be on the other side of the lens, I know what the artist is looking to gain from the content, and how they want to “look” in their photos/videos. I can relate to artists because I too am an artist, and that has made all the difference.
