Daily Inspiration: Meet Sofia Pereyra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sofia Pereyra.

Hi Sofia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started of my small business back in February 2020, when all the news about covid had came out! It was my sophomore year in high school and I was looking at places that were hiring. Since the whole quarantine started, getting a job wasn’t so easy. Breakable hearts had became a big thing on social media, and that’s when I got the idea of staring my own business. I first started off making chocolate-covered strawberries and breakable hearts and now I have expanded my business into doing floral arrangements and candy tables. Throughout the time I got to meet lots of amazing new small businesses that are near my area!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting my small business started wasn’t so easy. Finding where to get my products and knowing what to price my products was the most difficult part at the start. Having doing this for almost a year now I feel like I have gotten to know more. I’m still learning throughout the way but I have really grown a lot since the beginning. I’m glad that I have gotten my small business out there and my name is out here in the community.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m still in high school and I’m graduating May of 2022. At school, I’m known as the girl who makes flower arrangements. I’m really proud of how far along I have came, and knowing how to balance school life and business life. I feel like what sets me apart from other small businesses that do the same thing in my community is my availability. My schedule could be booked and I still make an effort to fit someone else in. I feel like that’s something my customers appreciate and that’s how I have gotten many of my loyal customers. Another thing that sets me apart is that I love what I do and I always make sure that the final product looks at its best, even if I have to add extra details.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am a one women job. I get lots of support from my friends and family members. People could support me by getting my name out and posting my page/work. Supporting a small business doesn’t always mean being a customer. Sometimes getting a shout-out gives you a better way so people find your page and your work!
