Daily Inspiration: Meet St. Wallace

Today we’d like to introduce you to St. Wallace.

Hi St. Wallace, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
My parents are immigrants from the Island of Dominica. My whole family is from there. They met in New York where I was born and I was sent to Dominica with my sister before I moved to Tallahassee, Florida. I’ve sung for as long as I could remember and learned the drums at 13. I started recording at 17 years old, and have been ever since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Due to my background, I never felt normal. I wasn’t treated that way either. I fought and was bullied more times than I wanna admit. It definitely threw me into some low times. There’s a lot of self-doubt that comes with what I do, as well as financial trouble. But I know it’ll all be worth it

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a recording artist, Producer, and Engineer. I dabble in multiple genres such as melodic Rap, R&B, alternative, and Caribbean music. I like to get my point across with introspective lyrics.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
A lot of times a mentor shows themselves when you put in the work. If you get yourself in enough rooms and put in time people will notice. Once you meet that person you want to learn from, actually listen, and take notes. Don’t focus on impressing as much as applying what they tell you.
