Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Resch.
Hi Tim, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I saw the movie Jeremiah Johnson when I was 13 years old and couldn’t believe there were mountains like that in this country. I came to Colorado when I was 19 and always wanted to be a mountain man. Now I live on top of a mountain in a log cabin totally off the grid surrounded by 30,000 acres of Roosevelt national forest bordering Rocky Mountain National Park And I have been a mule packer for the US government and a big game Outfitter and a snow cat driver.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have had many struggles starting with my family being hit by a car and killed when I was 13 and then came to Colorado and have been through many trials and tribulations, but just love being alive
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been working in the mountains for over 40 years as a big game guide a backcountry mule packer and a Horseman. I have over 70,000 miles in the saddle and have covered most of Colorado on horseback along with many of the other Rocky Mountain states from Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico
Any big plans?
No real changes now I’ve done what I wanted to do and hope to continue a life in the saddle and in the Rocky Mountains
