Daily Inspiration: Meet Tricia Bargers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tricia Bargers.

Hi Tricia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
At the end of 2021, I found myself relaxing at the end of each day by watching videos of people decorating sugar cookies on Instagram. I was mesmerized by it! I was so impressed with how these cookies could turn into little pieces of edible art. One night, I said to my husband, “You know what? I think I would like to try my hand at that!”

And the rest is history. At the beginning of 2022, I purchased a few supplies to get me started and I was hooked from the moment I decorated my first cookie! During the last year, I have spent hours and hours honing my skills by taking online courses, watching endless cookie-decorating videos, and creating my own little pieces of edible art for my wonderful clients. I guess you could say that I’m a little obsessed – I mean passionate – about it! It has been a true blessing to do what I love for a living while having an opportunity to spread a little happiness in peoples’ lives at the same time. When does a cookie not make your day a little better?

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing ever quite turns out the way you imagine it, does it? Although my business has brought me, as well as my clients, joy, there have been a few bumps in the road. For instance, when I first began decorating cookies, I had absolutely no idea the amount of time that goes into creating them. I would say that each set of my cookies will take around twenty to twenty-five hours of hands-on decorating time.

They are indeed a labor of love! It’s been an ongoing struggle to balance my business with other important factors, such as spending time with my loved ones, keeping up with the house, and making sure I’m taking care of myself.

Guilt will often creep in when I don’t seem to have it all together, but I have an amazing support system through my family and I am so grateful for all of them during this new venture in my life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a cookier – someone who creates custom-decorated sugar cookies for any event! Whether it be for your wedding, baby shower, birthday, or even just because – I am here to make your day a little sweeter! I am a wife and a mother to an 8-year-old boy who says I can do anything with cookies!

I am amazing in his eyes, which is what makes me the proudest. What sets me apart from others is that I won’t stop until your cookies are as close to perfect as possible! Bringing smiles to my clients’ faces is what makes it all worth it, and I hope to continue to do so well into the future!

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Colorado, as a whole, is known for its beautiful mountainscapes. I have lived here almost my entire life, and I am still impressed with our mountains, specifically Pikes Peak, every day.

I love the quiet and serenity of being out in nature. With that said, our population across the state has drastically increased in recent years, which is something I am not thrilled about. Put me in a remote cabin in the woods, and I would be perfectly happy!
