Today we’d like to introduce you to Trish Johnson.
Trish, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Through unforeseen events in combination with typical life transitions, I became stagnant. I thought I was showing up for my husband and kids, but I stopped growing and fell into the habit of just letting life happen. By not showing up for myself, my family wasn’t getting the very best they deserved. I lost focus on what could be and just stopped dreaming.
That wasn’t all, though. I couldn’t even achieve the most basic of goals. I experienced a lot of great starts, followed by epic stalls. Then, I got so tired of living every day just like the one before it. It was time for a change. I had to learn how to manage my mind to achieve my goals. I had to allow space for new dreams and establish a plan to make those dreams a reality.
I have over 10 years of experience in adult education, both as a professional learning facilitator and instructional coach. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also a Strategic Intervention Life Coach certified through Robbins Madanes Training Center. I made a move to professional life coaching when the teachers I worked with started applying the skills and strategies from instructional coaching to their personal lives in beneficial ways. A lifelong learner who has long been immersed in personal development, I became increasingly passionate when I experienced my transformation through the coaching process.
I believe wholeheartedly in the power of great coaching. We can all grow into our best selves, attain our personal goals and become more joyful, confident, self-actualized people when we are intentional. I believe in the power of one. By helping just one person to stand in their strengths and be the very best version of themselves, we have the potential to impact all the people in their lives and, by doing so helping the world a better place. I am on a mission to help over 10,000 women live their best life.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Nope! Struggles for me ranged from the everyday challenges of juggling parenting and being there for my partner to the loss of both parents to cancer, my sister surviving cancer, and my struggles with MS and being positive for the BRCA 2 gene mutation (hereditary Cancer gene mutation) all this while holding down a full-time job while starting a private coaching practice to serve and empower others.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a life coach, I help people grow faster, perform at higher levels, understand themselves more deeply, and live with greater purpose and fulfillment. In the same way that a personal trainer helps a pro athlete maximize performance, I help others get the most out of life.
I specialize in helping working moms move from being burned out, overwhelmed, feeling guilty, and unworthy to feeling happy, healthy, and high performing.
My way of coaching is a beautiful blend of client-centered holistic and strategy coaching.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
As part of the self-improvement industry, the coaching industry has already seen tremendous growth. Coaches are hired by fortune 1000 companies, in schools, in all departments of government, health clubs, non-profits, privately, and more to achieve success.
