Today we’d like to introduce you to Vicky Fowler.
Hi Vicky, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Bloom Bar NoCo started from a desire to create something that combined my love of flowers, creativity, and bringing people together. After moving to Northern Colorado and becoming a mom of two, I wanted to build a business that allowed me to be more present with my family while also doing work that felt meaningful and fulfilling.
I originally created Bloom Bar NoCo as a mobile flower bar where guests could choose their own stems and create personalized bouquets during weddings, showers, corporate events, and other celebrations. As the business grew, so did the services I offered. Today, Bloom Bar NoCo provides interactive bloom bars, custom floral arrangements, wedding and event floristry, flower wall rentals, and other floral experiences designed to make an event feel memorable and personal.
Building the business has involved a lot of learning, experimenting, and growing with each event. What began as a creative idea has become a way for me to help people celebrate meaningful moments and connect with one another through flowers. I am excited to continue growing Bloom Bar NoCo throughout Northern Colorado while staying focused on thoughtful design, quality service, and creating experiences people genuinely enjoy.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. Starting a business while raising two kids has meant learning how to balance family life with the demands of events, flower orders, setup, cleanup, and all of the behind-the-scenes work that comes with running a small business.
There has also been a lot to learn along the way, especially when it comes to pricing, ordering the right amount of flowers, managing waste, and figuring out which services make the most sense for my business. Flowers are perishable, so there is very little room for error, and every event teaches me something new.
One of the biggest challenges has been building awareness and helping people understand that Bloom Bar NoCo offers more than traditional floral arrangements. The interactive experience is a big part of what makes it special, but it has taken time to find the right audience and build those relationships.
Even with the challenges, I am grateful for how much I have learned. Each event has helped me become more confident, more efficient, and more clear about where I want to take the business.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Bloom Bar NoCo is a mobile floral business serving Northern Colorado. I offer interactive bloom bars where guests can choose their own flowers and build a bouquet to take home, as well as custom florals for weddings, showers, corporate events, and other celebrations.
The bloom bar experience is what really sets the business apart. It gives guests something hands-on to enjoy while also serving as a favor they can take home. I have also expanded into wedding and event florals, custom floral subscriptions for local businesses, and flower wall rentals.
I am most proud of how much the business has grown and the relationships I have built with clients and other businesses in the community. I am involved in every part of the process, from selecting the flowers to setting everything up, and I work closely with each client to make sure the florals fit their vision and the overall feel of the occasion.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned is that running a business requires flexibility. Not every idea works exactly the way you expect, and sometimes you have to make changes as you learn what clients are looking for and what works best for the business.
I have also learned not to wait until everything feels perfect before moving forward. A lot of the growth has come from trying new things, learning from each event, and becoming more confident along the way.
