Daily Inspiration: Meet Zack Weld

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zack Weld

Hi Zack, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been playing guitar since I was 12. It has always been a massive part of my life, but guitar was always just my thing. Most people didn’t even know that I played. It was just a peaceful thing for me at the end of the day. It wasn’t until about 5 years ago that I started singing and writing my own songs. In that time I have released a 3 song EP and a 12 song album, and since finishing up the album I have started playing live shows again with a focus on the wedding industry. Whether it is writing my own music, or playing live events, what I love most is creating a personal connection with my audience.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have definitely been ups and downs. Trying to start my music career through Covid was very challenging, especially considering I had just moved to Colorado. That made it very difficult to get my name out there. So, it took a lot of patience when I didn’t get to see any results for a few years, despite a lot of hard work. It hasn’t been until this last year that I have actually started to see some real results.
But I will also say there have been some very fortunate things as well. I was lucky enough to find an absolutely amazing producer, Jarrod Headley, in Colorado Springs. I wouldn’t be where I am now without him.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
For all of my songs, I write all of the acoustic/electric guitar and the lyrics. I am proud of how far my lyric and songwriting skills have come in such a short time, but guitar will always be my strength. It is the primary reason there is a great amount of diversity across my EP and album. I truly believe there is something for everyone when people listen to my music.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Be patient, and don’t just try to do the quickest thing you can to be noticed. None of this happens over night, even though from the outside it may appear that way sometimes. Ask people further ahead of you in their careers about what it really takes to turn your idea into a reality. You want to make sure that when good things start to come your way that you are actually ready for them.
