Exploring Life & Business with Adria Spivey of Beautiful Haven Interiors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adria Spivey.

Hi Adria, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story started back when I was a kiddo. I grew up watching HGTV with my mom and I would always say, “Mom, one day we’re going to have a business like that!”

Well life took me for a spin, I ended up going to college for something much different (the “safer” option) and after moving to Colorado after graduating, I became a teacher. I absolutely adored teaching, but I knew I had many other dreams. So I decided that I could always go back to teaching, but I would regret not giving my dream a chance.

I left the school and started reaching out to every designer in Colorado. I met many wonderful business owners along the way that lead me to my mentor. After studying under her for about 6 months, I decided it was time to go off on my own.

I started Beautiful Haven Interiors as a real estate staging company, but over time I really fell in love with organizing, holiday & event decorating and design! We even launched our very own product line that can be found online or locally at “Love Harper Boutique” at The Barn in Castle Rock, CO!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There’ are always obstacles that come with building your dream. My biggest obstacle being my internal battle of honestly believing I’m talented, knowledgeable or “important” enough to do the jobs I have.

But isn’t that the human experience? Being so terrified of your goals, but working towards them anyway.

I’ve learned that to succeed you have to surround yourself with encouragers and dreamers alike — to build a community of people around you that will push you to do the tough things and encourage you to never lose faith in yourself!

As you know, we’re big fans of Beautiful Haven Interiors. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our mission at Beautiful Haven Interiors is to transform houses into homes through design, decorating and organizing. We believe in building relationships first, business second. We work hard to put our community first, by donating 10% of every project to a local charity of our clients’ choice or to our ‘Beautiful Haven Project’ where we’re raising funds to purchase a safe house for human trafficking victims.

Our product line of home decor and custom cheese boards are food safe and handcrafted here in Colorado. Many of our realtor partners love them as closing gifts for their own clients!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Many people I work with don’t know I’m actually the middle child of seven kids! Growing up, my mom and I loved watching HGTV together and our family survived by the systems my parents put into place on a daily basis. This combination really sparked the love of design and organization in me! I have my mom to thank for our success, she’s my greatest inspiration!
