Exploring Life & Business with Adrienne Doubrava of Insight Psychological Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Doubrava.

Hi Adrienne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Insight psychological services has been a long time dream of mine. I had gotten my masters degree in Clinical Mental Health and then my doctorate in Psychology. I’ve worked in a variety of different roles throughout obtaining these degrees including with community mental health organizations, inpatient psychiatric facilities, corrections, co-response programs, and other private practices. All this experience allowed me to hone in on my own vision of what I’d want to provide for the patients who are seen through Insight Psychological Services. My company started out very slowly, it was primarily something I started as a passion project while still working. However, after the birth of my second son in 2021 I knew this was where I needed to put all my energy. So, since 2021 Insight Psychological Services has grown from initially offering assessments for residential treatment for youth to now offering services for Neurodevelopmental Assessment and treatment services for adults struggling with work related injuries.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to developing and implementing Insight Psychological services has been a long road. Initially I had started the LLC around 2015 when I was still completing my degree. For financial reasons, I had to continue working full time in order to make a living. Therefore, I was not really able to focus fully on the development of this practice. However, once I was able to devote my time and energy into Insight, it began to flourish. The first year of opening there were also some difficulties with being reimbursed through insurances but once we contracted with a new billing company we haven’t had these issues. I’ve had a few mentors along the way which has also been beneficial.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Insight Psychological Services we provide personalized neurodevelpmental assessments for children age 24 months to 10 years old. These assessments are for a variety of disorders that are typically identified within the early developmental phases of life. Additionally, therapeutic treatment is provided for adults primarily who have experienced a work related injury. Primarily I work with individuals who experience depression, anxiety, or trauma in relation to a specific life event. I believe our compassion and personalized care, along with knowledge base sets us apart from other treatment providers. My goal is to help patients improve their quality of life and be able to gain skill sets they are able to apply to a variety of difficulties they may encounter in the future. I’m most proud of being able to help individuals achieve their goals and to be able to assign diagnoses through assessment that enable children to access needed interventions to maximize their potential.

The Power of Now. I’m also constantly completing different trainings and/or certifications for therapeutic modalities that I believe will be beneficial to implement in my practice.
