Exploring Life & Business with Alex Rainone of Returning Home Healing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Rainone

Hi Alex, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I never expected to end up here. For years, I worked in tech at Google, thriving in high-pressure environments while completely ignoring my own burnout. Then a sudden health crisis knocked me sideways (literally—hello, vertigo!). I saw doctors, specialists, ran every test—no answers. My massage therapist at the time saw what was happening and said, “I can help you.” She introduced me to healers, became my mentor, and that’s where everything changed.

Tarot was what hooked me. At first, it was just a way to make sense of what I was going through, but the more I learned, the more I realized I wasn’t just reading cards—I was remembering something I had always known. Reiki helped me walk again, but tarot helped me trust myself again. That trust turned into a calling, and eventually, I trained as a Reiki Master and professional tarot reader before starting Returning Home Healing to help others reconnect with themselves the same way I did.

I still balance both worlds, managing a team in tech while running my own spiritual business, and I love blending structure with intuition. My philosophy is simple: Everyone already has the answers—they just need help tuning in.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth? Not exactly. But I’ve never expected growth to be linear.

I once thought I had to choose between my more traditional career and my spiritual work. I quit my full-time job at Google, thinking I needed to go all-in on my business. But stepping away made me realize that abandoning one world for the other wasn’t for me. I love both. I thrive in both. The real challenge has been straddling these two worlds and figuring out where I fit within them.

Honestly, I’m still figuring that out. I know that intuition and structure, strategy and energy, logic and magic are not at odds with each other—but convincing others of that? That’s the work. My biggest challenge has been learning how to blend these spaces, not just for myself, but to show people that these worlds can and should coexist.

We’ve been impressed with Returning Home Healing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Returning Home Healing is all about helping people reconnect to themselves. I offer tarot readings, Reiki sessions, and a mix of both, whether in-person, virtually, or at events. My approach is modern, grounded, and accessible, bridging intuition with real-life clarity.

I specialize in tarot readings that aren’t just about predicting the future but about holding up a mirror, offering insight, and helping people trust themselves again. Whether it’s a private session, a corporate event, or a pop-up market, my goal is always the same: to make spiritual tools approachable, insightful, and fun.

What sets me apart? You’ll probably hear a swear or two, see my honest reactions, and laugh—a lot. I don’t do fluff, gatekeeping, or gimmicks. I believe that everyone already has the answers—they just need help tuning in. My work is about guidance, not fortune-telling, and that’s why clients keep coming back.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building a space where people feel safe, seen, and supported—whether they’re skeptics, seasoned intuitives, or just curious. If you’re looking for clarity, an energetic reset, or a little bit of magic, I’ve got you.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I Like Best About Denver:
Denver has the perfect mix of city and nature—I love that I can be in the middle of a thriving community one moment and on a hiking trail the next. It took a few years, but I’ve never had a stronger sense of community than I do here. The way people in the spiritual and business world support and amplify each other’s work is rare and something I don’t take for granted. This is the fifth state I’ve lived in, and it’s tied for first with my hometown, Philly (go Birds!).

What I Like Least About Denver:
Sometimes Denver feels like a teenager who doesn’t quite know who they want to be when they grow up. The city can feel segmented, with neighborhoods and communities that don’t always overlap in a way that makes it feel cohesive. And I miss solid public transportation! Denver—I see you trying, but we need more.
