Today we’d like to introduce you to Amna Rafiq.

Hi Amna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From a young age, my fascination with skincare and makeup was undeniable. This passion was nurtured by my mother, who instilled in us the importance of caring for our skin and overall well-being. Growing up in Pakistan, we embraced a plethora of Eastern beauty practices, often transforming our kitchen into a makeshift beauty lab. Here, my mother lovingly taught my sister and me to concoct homemade masks using ingredients readily available in our pantry. In 2001, I embarked on a new chapter of my life when I moved to the United States.

This is when my love for skincare deepened. Along the way, I had both positive and challenging experiences. What troubled me the most was the lack of empathy within the beauty industry. One particular incident, where I was accidentally burned by a laser not suitable for my skin, was a turning point. It was then that I made a personal vow to establish my skin clinic, where I could provide comprehensive consultations and design personalized beauty regimens for my clients according to their skin type.

In 2019, I took the first step by opening a small treatment room. I wasn’t certain about the outcome at the time, but now, as I approach my fourth year in business in 2023, I am thrilled to announce the opening of my very first brick-and-mortar studio, nestled in the heart of Fort Collins.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. I have had quite a lot of ups and downs. But what business doesn’t? I do have the best clients and support system. I can’t thank God enough.

Our mission at The Skin Lounge is simple, “At The Skin Lounge, our commitment goes far beyond the superficial beauty standards. We understand that true beauty is a holistic concept that encompasses physical, mental, and emotional well-being. We firmly believe that self-care is not a luxury but an essential part of a fulfilling life.”

I specialize in devising skincare plans for my clients for long-term skincare goals. I do not believe in “small talk”. The thing that sets me apart from other brands and most importantly for my clients I mastered the art of knowing what one’s skin needs, and what works. The smart use of technology and use of power formulations deliver a new kind of destination and skincare that personalizes my client’s journey in skin well-being and skin quality.

My services and treatments are not unique to the area but they are exactly what your skin will need. you have to be a serious skincare enthusiast to be my client. I do not offer fluff one-time facials.

I am most thankful to my family and friends who always rooted for me. I am most grateful to my clients who are not only loyal but they are also my biggest support.
