Exploring Life & Business with Angela Nechvatal of Five Four Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Nechvatal.

Hi Angela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
– My husband & I moved from Wisconsin to Longmont in 2013 to raise our two children.
– I’ve been a group fitness instructor since 1999. I spent my kids’ early years teaching group fitness at several gyms, volunteering at their schools, working with the PTO, and running them everywhere they needed and wanted to go. I am very lucky to have been able to be a stay-at-home Mom, but becoming a Real Estate Agent has given me a new lease on life and I’m grateful to have this new chapter to lead me to new heights.
How did I become a RE agent?
– Laura Nixon, my mentor & co-worker at Five Four Real Estate, was a member of my classes at Gold’s Gym in Longmont. One day, she walked into my Body Combat class, and I told her that I had a dream that we would work together. She was not a friend of mine at the time. Several months later, I became her TC (transaction coordinator) for her real estate business and not long after that, I decided to go to real estate school myself. Laura has been there each step of the way, helping, guiding, and mentoring my journey in real estate. I now consider her a very good friend.
The first years of real estate are tough, but perseverance and relationship building are key. People are trusting you with a very big decision and I’m happy to say that this has been a very rewarding and satisfying career. My skills as a group fitness instructor have helped me with negotiation, organization, humor, tenacity, and humility in my job as a real estate agent. You just keep going.
I have been with Five Four Real Estate since the beginning and cannot believe the ride I’ve been on. This job has given me more than I would have imagined. My clients usually become my good friends because I just can’t say goodbye at the end of our transaction.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not a smooth road, no. I chose to get into real estate at the end of COVID, which presented unique struggles simply navigating that crisis.

I’m grateful to my clients, most of whom started as members of my gym or long-time friends, who gave me the opportunity to help them buy or sell their homes. My community is my biggest source of referrals, and my network is made up of the best people. The way people see me in the gym is the same Angela they see as a real estate professional.

Being a real estate agent requires trust, process management, negotiating, and more, and there are several people involved in each contract. Coordinating each contract and of all of the people involved is a challenge and no two contracts are the same! Real estate is hard, whether you’re in your first year or your 10th year. The challenges are ever evolving.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Five Four Real Estate is the one-stop shop for those who are ready to take their home or investment to the next level. Our name, Five Four, derives from 5.4%: The average annual home appreciation rate in the US over the last 50 years. We know that your real estate investment is one of the largest and most important purchases of your life. With that in mind, our focus and strategy revolve around you.
Reviews: Angela was both attentive and down to earth. She helped us navigate all our options including financing, insurance and inspections. We are grateful for Angela and consider her a good friend after this big milestone in our life.

Angela is FANTASTIC!!! She was great at identify a specific list of wants and needs we had for our new home. She was efficient, organized, detailed oriented, patient, and ultimately found us the perfect property. If you’re looking for a realtor, I can’t recommend Angela enough!!!

Angela was very informative, knowledgeable and communicative throughout the process of selling our house. After selling our house, we said “this is it, we won’t t see you again”. Seems like we were saying goodbye to an old friend. Angela, thank you and Jen for all the help you provided. 100 percent happy with you both. Highly recommended.

I pride myself on being organized, have statistics to back up information, and my communication skills with my clients. Real Estate is never smooth or without ripples and it takes resiliency and dedication to get to the closing table.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I’ve learned to be flexible and roll with the punches, but to know the end game is to get the house closed. Both parties need to be flexible and give and take. You need to be steadfast and dedicated to your client and be reasonable to finalize the process or buying or selling.
