Exploring Life & Business with Angeliqua Morales Ayala of Angeluxe Nails

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angeliqua Morales Ayala.

Angeliqua Morales Ayala

Hi Angeliqua, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story starts off with myself getting ready to go to college and I was trying to figure out what degree I wanted to major in. I always knew I wanted my own business whether it was my own bakery, my own cake decorating business, selling art, just doing something of my own. I ended up getting my degree in Entrepreneurship and from there I was still trying to figure out what I wanted to do. I graduated at the peak of 2020 and ended up working for a couple companies including a start up business. Finally at the beginning of 2023 I decided to start my own press on nail Business. I loved having my nails done and I loved doing art in some form. For me, if I didn’t have my hair done, my makeup done, I at least had my nails done. The inspiration for creating my press on nail Business was wanting to give woman an outlet for their beauty even if it’s just on their fingertips.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Creating my own business has definitely not been easy. It takes a lot of dedication and constant work. I work a full time job while still trying to gain a following for my business. I do not pay for advertising on any social media platform so I have been trying to grow my customer base organically which is not easy. A lot of people started press on nail Businesses in 2020 so it has definitely become a saturated market since then but the nice thing is that everyone has their own style and their own talents. The first step to creating a business is brand awareness so for my first year i have been constantly working on that. The most challenging part is trying to get people to take a chance on me and my product. All it takes is one time but a lot of people are worried about taking that chance.

We’ve been impressed with Angeluxe Nails, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Angeluxe Nails I create hand-painted press on nails. I paint every design and every nail myself. Nothing is mass produced and nothing is made from plastic. All of my nail tips and polishes are gel. I specialize in painting designs rather than using jewels and bedazzled Nails. A lot of people are hesitant to use press on nails because we are all used to the mass produced plastic ones which do not last and are very limited on variety. I offer different lengths and different shapes of Nails as well as providing kits to size your natural nails so that my press on nails fit you perfectly. My press on nails are also reusable so it saves you money in the long run. I can customize almost any design that someone wants compared to the standard nail salon where most nail techs won’t do certain designs when you ask for them. One of my sets that I am most proud of was an anime set that I created for an expo event here in the city; 5 nails were individually a different design from some of my favorite animes. I would love to do more sets like that especially because you don’t see those very often.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is providing quality nails to woman that help them really express their beauty how they want to. I love creating a connection with my customers and making moments for them memorable. We all see art in many different forms throughout our everyday life and I want to be apart of that expression.
