Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Sergeant
Beth, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Tiny Gem Garden started as a passion project, inspired by my love for crystals, nature, and healing tools. I’ve always loved crystals ever since I was a kid, but when I got sober 12 years ago, I found a deep connection with them—they became a source of strength, grounding, and healing. Their natural beauty and energy resonated deeply with me, much like the peace I find when climbing 14ers out here in Colorado and immersing myself in the outdoors.
I originally launched my shop on Etsy, curating crystals that felt meaningful to me and sharing them with others. As I grew and learned more about ethical sourcing and the stories behind each stone, I knew I wanted to build something bigger. That’s when I transitioned to social media, where I could connect with my community in a more personal way through live sales and educational content.
Like any business, it’s been a learning experience—from sourcing to marketing to community-building—but it’s been incredibly rewarding. This is also more than just a shop to me; it’s a space where people can find pieces that resonate with them, just like they did for me, whether for healing, home decor, or a deeper spiritual connection.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has definitely had its bumps, and I’ve come to understand that struggles are part of the process (honestly, they’re what make this journey exciting and rewarding!). When I first started, I had no experience running a business. After getting laid off from another tech job, for the second time—I realized I didn’t want to keep chasing something that didn’t align with me. Starting over was scary, but I knew I wanted to build something that truly reflected my passion.
I was completely self-taught, learning everything from bookkeeping to managing inventory, building an online presence, and figuring out how to stand out in a competitive market. Time management, especially as a one-woman show, was a challenge. I am responsible for every aspect of the business—sourcing crystals, packaging orders, running live sales, and marketing—all while trying to grow the business and staying current at the same time.
One of the biggest shifts was moving from Etsy to social media. Etsy was a great start, but I wanted to connect more personally with my customers. Moving to TikTok was scary! I wasn’t sure how people would respond to live sales, and putting myself out there was intimidating. The show is you—I had to figure out how to engage my audience, make my shows fun and educational, and provide real value. I quickly learned that it wasn’t just about selling crystals; it was about creating an experience and making true, authentic connections with people. That’s what helped me stand out in such a competitive space, and over time, I built an amazing community of crystal lovers who truly connect with the energy I bring.
Even with all the challenges, the rewards of watching my business grow and seeing people connect with the crystals I offer make it all so worth it!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I sell crystals live on TikTok and through my own website, offering high-vibrational, hand-selected, and ethically sourced crystals that bring happiness into your home. I specialize in high-end, unique pieces—such as flower agate, amethyst, rare and hard-to-find gemstones, and stunning statement pieces for home decor.
What truly sets my business apart is the community I’ve built through my live sales. It’s more than just selling crystals; it’s about creating an experience. From the moment someone joins a live show to the excitement of unboxing their order, I want every step to feel special. I put a lot of care into attention to detail, from sourcing pieces with energy and intention to providing fast shipping and beautiful packaging. I also create fun and educational content, so whether you’re here to shop or just to learn, there’s something for everyone.
What I’m most proud of brand-wise is that it’s truly and authentically me. That might sound small, but for me, it’s huge. For so long, I struggled with wanting to be liked, seeking approval, or feeling like I needed to be a certain way to succeed. But stepping into my authenticity—showing up exactly as I am and trusting that the right people will resonate with it—has been one of the biggest gifts. Getting to make a living doing something I genuinely love and am passionate about while being 100% myself is something I’m deeply proud of.
If you’re looking for a space to connect with other crystal enthusiasts, experience live sales filled with energy, entertainment, and knowledge, and shop for crystals that will truly resonate with your soul, come join my live shows! Whether you’re interested in crystals, mental health, spirituality, or just here for fun, there’s always a place for you to be part of the conversation.
