Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridget Hahn.
Bridget, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always wanted to bring out the beauty in others, wherever I saw it. I started my career as an aesthetician, which gave me the foundation in skin care, facial, chemical applications & hair removal. I then moved into laser technology, as I wanted to be of greater assistance to clients with skin disorders. This led me to become a paramedical aesthetician, which required me to continue my education and training.
My next step was to move into a corporate role with American Lasers. In this role, I was able to direct and close offices that were struggling to meet corporate standards. I learned a lot about management and leadership in this role.
Throughout my career, I have always been persistent. The beauty industry is competitive, so it is important to never give up on your dreams. Keep learning, keep networking, and keep creating. With hard work and dedication, you can achieve success in the beauty industry.
Here are some new trends in the beauty industry and the franchise model:
The Beauty Industry…
Sustainability: Consumers are increasingly interested in sustainable beauty products and services. This means using products that are made with natural ingredients and that are packaged in recyclable materials.
Personalization: Consumers are looking for beauty products and services that are tailored to their individual needs. This means offering a wide range of products and services, as well as the ability to customize products and treatments.
Technology: Technology is playing an increasingly important role in the beauty industry. This includes the use of artificial intelligence to recommend products and treatments, as well as the use of virtual consultations to have real information regarding the services of interest.
Here are some opportunities and challenges that I see for the franchise/business moving forward:
Opportunities…
E-commerce: E-commerce is a growing market, and beauty products and services are no exception. This means that there is an opportunity for franchises to reach a wider audience and sell their products and services to customers all over the world.
International expansion: The beauty industry is global, and there are opportunities for franchises to expand into new markets.
Challenges…
Competition: The beauty industry is competitive, and many different brands and franchises are vying for customers. This means that franchises need to find ways to differentiate themselves from the competition.
Offer unique products or services: Franchises can offer unique products or services that are not available from other brands or franchises. This could include products or services that are made with natural ingredients, that are designed for specific hair types or skin conditions, or that are offered at a lower price point.
Target a specific niche: Franchises can target a specific niche within the beauty industry. This could include focusing on a particular age group, gender, or hair type. By targeting a specific niche, franchises can more effectively reach their target customers and differentiate themselves from the competition.
Provide excellent customer service: Franchises can differentiate themselves by providing excellent customer service. This means being friendly and helpful to customers, providing them with accurate information about products and services, and going the extra mile to make sure they are satisfied with their experience.
Use social media: social media is a great way for franchisees to connect with potential customers and differentiate themselves from the competition. By creating and maintaining a strong social media presence, franchises can share their unique products or services, target specific demographics, and build relationships with potential customers.
Get involved in the community: Franchises can get involved in the community by sponsoring local events, donating to charities, or volunteering their time. This shows potential customers that the franchise is committed to the community and cares about its customers.
Offer loyalty programs: Franchises can offer loyalty programs to reward customers for their repeat business. This can help to keep customers coming back and differentiate the franchise from its competitors.
Regulations: The beauty industry is regulated in many countries, and franchises need to ensure that they are compliant with all applicable regulations. This can be a complex and time-consuming process. Which we already understand and have solutions for in every state along with guidance.
Technology: Technology is constantly changing, and franchises need to be able to adapt to new technologies to stay ahead of the competition. This can be a challenge, as it requires investment in new equipment and training for staff.
My goal for the business moving forward is to:
Expand into new markets: I want to expand the business into new markets, both domestically and internationally. This will allow me to reach new customers and grow the business.
Develop new products and services: I want to continue to develop new products and services that meet the needs of my customers. This will help me stay ahead of the competition and keep my customers coming back for more.
Provide exceptional customer service: I want to provide exceptional customer service to all of my customers. This means being responsive to their needs, providing them with high-quality products and services, and making sure that they have a positive experience every time they interact with the business.
Build a strong team: I want to build a strong team of employees who are passionate about the business and who are committed to providing excellent customer service. This team will be essential to the success of the business moving forward.
Be a leader in the beauty industry: I want to be a leader in the beauty industry. This means setting new standards for quality, innovation, and customer service. I also want to be a role model for other businesses in the industry.
I believe that if I can achieve these goals, the business will be successful in the years to come.

Here are some specific examples of how we deliver training and support:
We provide our franchisees with access to comprehensive online training. This includes courses on a wide range of topics, we will help plan, market, and attain great customer service skills. (Available depending on what services and products they decide to start with).
We offer our franchisees regular webinars and workshops. These events provide franchisees with the opportunity to learn from industry experts and to network with other franchisees.
We have a dedicated team of support professionals who are available to answer franchisees’ questions and provide guidance. This team can be reached by phone, email, or chat.
We believe that our training and support program is essential to the success of our franchisees. It gives them the knowledge, skills, and support they need to run a successful business.
As a franchise, our most difficult moment was during the COVID-19 pandemic. When the pandemic hit, we had to close all of our Medical Spa for several months. This was a very challenging time for our business, as we had to lay off employees and deal with financial losses.
However, we were able to weather the storm and reopen our spa. We did this by implementing new safety protocols and by offering online marketing, gift cards, updates, and keeping all directions posted to revisit as we reopened while being compliant.
We are grateful that we were able to overcome this difficult challenge. We believe that it made us stronger as a business and that we are better prepared to face future challenges. Here are some of the specific challenges that we faced during the pandemic:
Financial losses: We had to lay off employees and reduce our operating expenses. We also had to pay for new safety protocols and online services.
Customer demand: Customer demand for beauty services decreased during the pandemic. This was due to several factors, including social distancing restrictions and economic uncertainty.
Competition: Other businesses in the beauty industry were also facing challenges during the pandemic. This made it more difficult to attract and retain customers.
Despite these challenges, we were able to overcome them and reopened. We believe that our success was due to many factors, including:
Our strong brand: We have a strong brand that is known for quality and customer service. This gave us a competitive advantage during the pandemic.
Our dedicated team: We have a dedicated team of employees who are passionate about our business. They worked hard to keep our spa running during the pandemic.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The Natural Place Medspa is a business that provides natural and medical aesthetic treatments. Some of the challenges that this business may face during COVID-19 include:
Reduced demand for services: People may be less likely to seek out medical treatments, even if they are natural, during a pandemic. This is because they may be worried about contracting the virus, or they may be conserving their resources for other needs. Increased costs: The cost of doing business may increase during a pandemic. For example, the business may need to purchase additional personal protective equipment (PPE) for its staff, or it may need to implement new cleaning and disinfection procedures.
Supply chain disruptions: The supply chain for medical supplies may be disrupted during a pandemic. This could make it difficult for the business to obtain the necessary products and supplies to provide its services. Government restrictions: Governments may impose restrictions on businesses during a pandemic, such as limiting the number of customers that can be served at a time or requiring businesses to close for certain periods. These restrictions could make it difficult for the business to operate profitably.
In addition to these general challenges, the Natural Place Med Spa may also face specific challenges related to its business model. For example, some of the treatments that the business provides may require close contact between the staff and the customer. This could make it difficult to comply with social distancing guidelines. Additionally, some people may be hesitant to seek out natural or medical aesthetic treatments during a pandemic because they may not believe that these treatments are effective against COVID-19.
Despite these challenges, there are some things that Natural Place Med Spa can do to mitigate the risks and continue operating profitably during COVID-19. For example, the business could: Offer online services: The business could offer some of its services online, such as consultations or educational workshops. This would allow the business to continue serving customers even if it is unable to operate its physical location.
Partner with other businesses: The business could partner with other businesses in the community to offer joint services or promotions. This would help the business to reach a wider audience and attract new customers.
Focus on marketing: The business could invest in marketing to increase brand awareness and generate leads. This could involve creating a website, running social media ads, or distributing print advertising. By taking these steps, the Natural Place Med Spa can increase its chances of survival during COVID-19 and emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever.
