Exploring Life & Business with Comfort Rogers of Radiant Identity Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Comfort Rogers.

Hi Comfort, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born into a family of talented musicians and artists and so the arts have always been a part of my story. My mom taught me piano as a little girl and I loved singing with my Dad. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a performer and by the time I got to high school, I had fallen in love with learning and performing all genres of music… especially Jazz.

My high school choir teacher was instrumental in helping me find my confidence in performing by simply encouraging me to embrace my uniqueness and learn how to step into my authentic self. I knew, even then, that if I ever had the opportunity to teach in my lifetime, I wanted to be just like him. I went on to study the arts in college and majored in Vocal Jazz Performance and Sacred Music.

After earning my degrees, I went on to have many opportunities to perform and do what I loved. After moving to Colorado, I decided to open my first private art studio here in Colorado Springs. I envisioned a place committed to helping children and adults grow in all areas of their life through the arts. This included those who possessed innate musical and artistic abilities and wanted to cultivate their talent, as well as those just beginning their path in the arts.

Throughout the past decade, I have had several studios that ended up giving birth to my current one… Radiant Identity Coaching. The evolution of my teaching style over the years has grown and changed as I have grown and changed. Today, as I continue to focus on teaching private students in the areas of voice, piano, and acting, I am also focused on building confidence and helping my students become comfortable in their skin… just like my teacher did for me so many years ago.

My love for the arts allows me to help people discover their giftings, but more importantly, discover themselves. Because of my love for encouraging people, I have also had the opportunity to branch out into life coaching and teaching workshops that focus on building confidence and self-expression through the arts.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth road? Not at all. But I think some of the most tumultuous roads lead to beautiful destinations. Owning and growing businesses has been challenging in so many ways and I have experienced many growing pains. However, I would say the most challenging thing I encounter daily is seeing how much pain people are in…especially our youth.

This world is becoming increasingly harder for young people to navigate and I see how much they are struggling on their paths. My main goal is to encourage and hopes for every student that walks through my door.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Radiant Identity Coaching?
This studio is so much more than just a place to come and explore the arts. It is a safe place to come and just “be”. A place to breathe and find hope and encouragement during these difficult times. Because of technology, I am not only able to offer in-person sessions locally, but I am also able to teach and coach students all over the world through online sessions… what a beautiful thing!

I approach teaching with a creative mindset, understanding that each of my students learns in different and unique ways. It is not uncommon to see one of my piano students also doing a painting…or one of my voice students learning a fun dance as well. Progress over perfection is always encouraged. Many of my students go on to seek professional careers in the arts while others carry what they learn with them into other walks of life.

My life coaching practice focuses on helping young people discover their true identities in a safe and judgment-free space. They know that with me, they can ask their toughest questions and I will do my best to help them reach answers that resonate well within themselves. Within these relationships, I have the privilege of equipping each of them with mindsets, tools, and processes that will increase their self-esteem, self-acceptance, and confidence.

As I also mentioned, I am honored to have been invited to teach workshops locally and around Colorado that focus on increasing confidence through the arts, and am looking forward to continuing to build that program in the days ahead.

So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
Kindness… making sure every soul that crosses my path knows that they are loved and valued for exactly who they are. That they are enough, just as they are.

That there is always hope… no matter how dark it might get. I love using the arts to help people experience beauty in this world and also find beauty in themselves. I want people to be able to look in the mirror and have kind eyes and grace for their reflection.
