Exploring Life & Business with Cynthia James of Cynthia James Enterprises

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia James.

Cynthia James

Cynthia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have lived a very full life. From an abusive childhood to being an International award-winning Author, TEDx Speaker, and Emotional Integration Freedom Coach I have overcome many obstacles and experienced a great deal of healing.

That is why I do the work I do today. I have also been an accomplished actress, opening act for Jay Leno and Rich Little, and sung around the world. I have been married for 24 years and I am a mother of two sons. I think the most important thing about my story is that I am a lifelong seeker. I am a risk taker and never allowed the circumstances of life to keep me down.

I believe my creative spirit has always served to support me through dire situations. It was during those times I wrote books and music, created meditation series, and supported people, especially women, around the world. I am a way to shower and hopefully an inspiration to those around me.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My life has not been a smooth road. It has been exciting, scary, adventurous, and thrilling. My greatest challenges had to do with owning my self-worth and learning to love myself. I learned at a very young age to do as I was told. Even if it created pain.

Those lessons followed me through life as I learned to stop giving my power away to others. I had to learn to find my voice, stand up for myself, and decide what was non-negotiable in my life. I had to learn to set clear boundaries and that did not always please the people around me. Once I stopped trying to get love and validation….my life became grace-filled.

As you know, we’re big fans of Cynthia James Enterprises, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

I co-hosted a radio talk show, and a television talk show in Los Angeles and am a sought-after radio guest.

My podcast, Women Awakening has interviewed over 180 women worldwide and my TEDX talk “The past does not define us” has over 80,000 views. Internationally, I lead workshops in England and Ireland and have created and facilitated pilgrimages to Peru, Chartres, France, meditations in the Temples of Humankind in Damanhur, Italy and Mary Magdalene experiences in the south of France, and Egypt. I have all presented and been the co-chair of the Women’s Leadership Conference in Uganda, Africa.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I love to read, especially memoirs of people that I admire. I like Rachel Meadow’s podcast and am starting to listen to Trevor Noah’s new podcast.
