Exploring Life & Business with Deborah Dettmann of AirCity 360

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deborah Dettmann.

Why was the business started?
Concept started in 2018. To bring something unique and amazing for kids of all ages to play and have events right in the Northgate area instead of driving up to Denver.

What services does the business provide?
We are a unique Adventure Park in the Family Entertainment Center of the Amusement business. We provide Fun and Awesome parties. We are a place where kids of all ages can come (Crawlers – Grandparents) to celebrate a family outing or reunion, Sports leagues, team bonding can take place, or a traditional award-winning Birthday Party.

Who thought of the name of the business? What does the name mean?
The Founder (Deborah Dettmann). It means 360 degrees of adventure because wherever you Flip-Zip-or Soar through the air on our attractions, you see nothing but action going on!

What is the business’ most interesting feature?
We have two but the most unique is probably our 360 Ride. A feature that comes from Europe was created specifically for our build.

Actually, the building was designed around it. The ride is 500′ sq feet of a rail that is attached to our roof. You start off by jumping off a 40′ ramp while being suspended in the air from this railing while in a very safe harness. It is gravity fed so every ride is different while you Flip-Zip-Soar over the entire building.

What attracts people the most to the business?
The opportunity to have fun with friends or family that provides shelter from the outside winter or summer storm elements. Also to have an amazing party with.

What obstacles did you encounter in establishing the business?
Building the business from the ground up (Construction). Since our business is generally a “Leasing” kind of venue, building from scratch up is a unique concept in itself. We had one lengthy loan fall through for various reasons and then were able to sell our concept with a local bank, ABC Bank, who thought the project and development, Polaris Pointe, was a great opportunity for the community. We also struggled for the first 6 months with getting some attractions and stock items as Covid issues on the manufacturing and distribution issues were consequences. However, fortunately, starting the building process and attraction orders in early 2020 helped us open fully in August 2021.

What has been the most rewarding part of starting the business?
Seeing the kids faces as they enter the door and either jump up and down, squeal with delight, or people being mesmerized with all the flashing lights and people flying overhead.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It was a long road mainly due to wanting to create the most Unique Adventure Park in the Newly built area of Northgate and banks trying to fund this elaborate adventure, almost four years in the making.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My background comes from working in the Entertainment Industry in Los Angeles and then Real Estate Investments and Management in California, Florida, and Colorado with other entrepreneur ventures along the way.

What matters most to you?
Providing something that is unique and seems like you are in a different city, like what I was able to grow up around being from a very large eclectic city, for the community.
