Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Gormley

Hi Diana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I actually started at Donna Baldwin Agency as an intern/assistant when I was 20 years old. I moved to NYC to work as a booking assistant at Next Model Management when I was 22. I worked my way up at Next and became the director of the New Faces division. My division worked with the scouting department to develop all the new models that came to Next. I worked there for 8 years. After my time at Next I moved over to New York Model Management where I was the director of their New Faces Division for 4 years. I primarily concentrated on high fashion and runway models. In 2007 I moved back to Denver and returned to Donna Baldwin Agency to run the modeling department and have been here ever since. Now I book both fashion and commercial/lifestyle models.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes and no. It certainly has not been easy. But it has been a very fun and rewarding career. I have travelled the world and worked with amazing talent in local, National and International markets. I have worked with high end designers on photo shoots and runway shows and have booked awesome events and commercial lifestyle jobs as well. It’s a lot of work, every day is different. It’s a very competitive field and takes a lot of energy and commitment to succeed.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I work hard and love what I do. I feel blessed to have a career in such a unique industry. I love people and have a lot of energy and passion for the business. I think that is one of the most important qualities in this job. I also believe being flexible and having the ability to pivot quickly is important. I believe having a positive attitude in the spirit of competition is a must and having an all-in attitude is a must.
