Today we’d like to introduce you to Vuong Le.
Hi Vuong, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I worked in Finance, Accounting and IT for over 25 years. I was blessed with a baby girl and wanted to spend more time with her and became a stay at home mom. Through the years of working long corporate hours, I picked up charcuterie as a hobby. In Nov 2020, my husband and I saw how the pandemic affected some families in the Colorado community and we wanted to help. In order to create a stable foundation to continue to help our community we needed to build a long term business plan. This was the start of Le Fancy Boards. I enjoy creating charcuterie for family and friends during Thanksgiving. Dec was the official launch of the business. During winter months, many families and communities in Colorado need our support. We selected the Asian American Pacific Center to donate gift baskets to a handful of families. Our gifts included sweaters, jackets, canned food and grocery gift cards. Proceeds from each board sold helps create gift baskets for families in need. We try on a quarterly basis, to find an organization that needs our help and donate. Trying to make a difference one board at a time.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
We’ve been very lucky to have the support of our Colorado community. We don’t have a marketing budget and only have a few giveaways on Instagram, to thank our followers and customers for their continued support. Most of our customers are from referrals and word of mouth. One of our challenges is costs of inventory. Since this is a small business we don’t buy in bulk. We order what we need and have weekly cheese shipments. We offer a variety of grazing selections and try our best to price competitively.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I grew up all my life in Colorado. Coloradans are awesome! The majority are caring, generous and we want to build a healthy and safe community together. Sometimes people just need a little help to get back on their feet and it’s hard to ask for help. Our little donation will help our community and help us continue to live in a beautiful state we call home.
